Rumor Killer: Crowe NOT in Dark Knight, McAvoy NOT Confirmed for Star Trek

jamesmcavoy1.jpgYesterday we reported on a story that claimed that Christian Bale revealed that 3:10 To Yuma co-star Russell Crowe was featured in the upcoming Batman Begins sequel, The Dark Knight. We speculated that he must have been joking, because why would Russell appear in the film if he wasn’t a lead character? Well turns out that it was in fact a joke. SuperHeroHype confirms that Bale didn’t want to talk about The Dark Knight, since the press junket was for another film, and made the joke in an effort change the questions from the Dark Knight questions back to Yuma.

Also, on Monday the UK’s Daily Mail reported that James McAvoy was confirmed to play Scotty in the JJ Abrams Star Trek prequel/revamp. My reliable sources are saying that nothing is confirmed yet. I don’t know much more than that. I’m not saying that McEvoy won’t be involved in the project, but as of right now, that is not the case.
