Premiere date for season two of The Sarah Connor Chronicles

Terminator: The Sarah Connor ChroniclesWe here at TV are sometimes privy to top secret industry information (information if revealed in public would result in our spontaneous beheading). Other times, we’re just given the press release.

That being said, the second season of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles will begin on Monday, September 8th at 8 p.m. I’ll wait while you run to the DVR to set the record time. Fox is also planning to run a season one marathon leading up to the premiere (the DVD is set for release on August 19th).

Returning actors include Lena Headey, Summer Glau, Thomas Dekker, Richard T. Jones and Brian Austin Green. New cast members include Shirley Manson, who plays a tech company CEO, and Leven Rambin as a possible love interest for John Connor.

Season one of the show had to be cut short due to the writer’s strike (and had a somewhat unsatisfying cliffhanger), but there were some real gems of episodes. I’m looking forward to season two.

Anne Hathaway and Steve Carell: Get Smart in Soho

Anne Hathaway and Steve Carell: Get Smart in Soho

Yesterday, you could get a new iPhone and meet Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway all in one shot by visiting the Apple store in the SoHo district of New York City.

That’s right, the stars of the new spy/spoof movie “Get Smart” were in the house for an exclusive “Meet the Actors” event, fielding questions and having a great time.

The newly-single “Devil Wears Prada” babe rocked a conservative-yet-sexy black v-neck sleeveless minidress with a pair of shiny heels, while the “Office” funnyman opted for a grey suit.

Carell recently told press that he enjoyed stepping out of his usual comedic role to play a spy.  “When we first discussed it, we wanted it to be a legitimate spy movie that’s also funny. I wanted it to hold up, with characters that could potentially exist and situations that had stakes to them … we are not people you’d normally see in an action movie, and I think that’s part of the comedy.”

Sienna Miller Time in Sherwood Forest

Sienna Miller

Sienna Miller is reporting for maiden duty.

The British starlet says that she has signed on to play Maid Marian in the upcoming Ridley Scott film Nottingham, a fractured take on the classic tale of philanthropic swashbuckler Robin Hood and his band of Merry Men.

In Scott and screenwriter Brian Helgeland’s version, Russell Crowe, who has been attached to the project for more than a year, will play the historically wretched Sheriff of Nottingham as a good guy investigating a series of crimes committed by Robin and his cohorts.

“It’s happening. I just found out. It’s the most exciting news in the world,” Miller told the BBC.

“It’s ridiculous,” she added, calling the chance to work with Crowe and Scott “as good as it gets.”

“But there’s this looming actors’ strike, so it’s not 100 percent sure that it’s going to be made, but it’s looking pretty certain.”

Scott just finished directing Crowe for the fourth time in the CIA thriller Body of Lies.

More Krofft movies on the way?

The World of Sid and Marty KrofftWe already have Land of the Lost coming to the big screen next year starring Will Ferrell. Now two more Sid and Marty Krofft creations might be on the way.

Apparently, the shows Sigmund and the Sea Monsters and H.R. Pufnstuf will be getting the big screen treatment as well. Knowing Hollywood, the CGI gurus are probably already working on new character designs that are hip and cool (although thankfully they didn’t change the Sleestaks very much). Part of the appeal of the original 70’s programs were the actors in the silly costumes, but I guess one must adapt to the times.

The original shows were very psychedelic and a product of the time. There are rumors that the Kroffts created them under the influence. I just have two questions: First, will the lead child actor in Sigmund and the Sea Monsters sing a solo at the end like Johnny Whitaker? Second, would I be able to appreciate the movies more if I watched them while stoned?
