Oprah’s Overseas Outing
Instead of red, white and blue, Oprah Winfrey was seeing green, white and red this Fourth of July weekend.
The talk-show giant, along with her BFF Gayle King, was spotted indulging in a little Independence Day R&R in Portofino, Italy.
And who can blame Miss O? After undergoing a 21-day diet detox, we’d be tempted to indulge in all the finer things the country has to offer as well.
Of course, this all leads to the burning question that we know is on everybody’s mind.

J.Lo Debuts Fabulous, Fashionable Twins
Jennifer Lopez’s twins, Max and Emme, have managed to keep a fairly low profile since their coming-out spread in People earlier this year.
But the buzzworthy babies are at it again. This time making an appearance in Portofino, Italy, at the home of Stefano Gabbanaas in one-half of designer label Dolce & Gabbanaover the Fourth of July weekend.
We’d expect nothing less, natch, and expect to start receiving detailed fashion reports on their sartorially splendid spit-up bibs any day now.
Fans Will Appear In The Hobbit!
Guillermo del Toro had a Q&A session with MTV and revealed some rather good news for Hobbit fans.
“Who do I have to kill or sleep with to get a role as an extra?” user Mike Moore asked.
“Oh my god, well that’s a good question only in that it’s asked often,” del Toro said, chuckling. “[But] I believe as the film comes to happen, in either of the two films, [fans] have a good chance of being there.”
“Sleep with a lot of people if you can! That’s a very good piece of advice. But don’t bribe anyone. It will be wasted money,” del Toro said, laughing. “We will set some rules and some contests and some fans will definitely get the chance of being extras. Go and apply for those roles!”
Contests will be the better option for Hobbit fans as there is more chance of Gimli getting a back, crack and sac wax than a Hobbit fan sleeping with anyone.

Somedays I wish I could post two or three videos in VOTD. But the title of the daily column is kind of limiting. I just came across this wonderful video clip from Corey Haim and Corey Feldman’s A&E reality show The Two Coreys which shows Haim having a mental breakdown on the set of The Lost Boys 2. We really really want to support Haim, but it’s hard to get someone who is ready to self destruct at any given moment. Check it out below.
