Guess who’s returning to Smallville
Stop reading now if you don’t want to be spoiled regarding the beginning of season eight of Smallville. We already know that the new season takes a different direction, as Lana Lang goes part-time, Lex Luthor is gone and Doomsday is in. At least Allison Mack is staying.
Spoilers after the jump …
The Justice League returns to Smallville at the beginning of next season. They are searching for the missing Clark Kent. For those who are unaware, Clark was buried in ice when the Fortress of Solitude collapsed on both him and Lex at the end of last season.
Justin Hartley (a.k.a. Oliver Queen/Green Arrow) is locked in for 12 episodes. Aquaman, Black Canary and the Martian Manhunter (Alan Ritchson, Alaina Huffman and Phil Morris) are also slated for appearances.
“This season’s theme is “double identities,” says Kelly Souders, who will be running the show with Brian Peterson, Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer after the departure of series’ creators Al Gough and Miles Millar. “It’s about the Superman identity emerging as Clark Kent tries to maintain a normal life - or the appearance of a normal life.”
Vanessa Hudgens: Back in the Big Apple
Vanessa Hudgens: Back in the Big Apple
Today is a big day for Vanessa Hudgens. Her new album Identified hits retail and online stores, and she’s poised to make her presence known in the pop music world once and for all.
The “High School Musical” beauty was spotted arriving at New York City’s JFK International Airport yesterday as part of her promotional tour. She’s been busy filming HSM 3, but now it’s time to tend to her musical side.
And Miss Hudgens looked sweet in a white top with a purple scarf, vintage-looking jeans, and a pair of strappy gladiator sandals.
Vanessa is also teaming up with Sears for the Product Finger Challenge. Beginning July 11th there will be clues on the store’s website for a weekly special offer. The grand prize is an appearance by Vanessa at the winner’s school.
Stump the King: Morgan Spurlock
Last week was a historic one for me. Something happened that has never happened before and it actually happened twice.
Last week, as I often do, I wrote reviews of a few TV shows. The first review was for a new documentary series on Showtime. I didn’t really like the show but I made a comment on how beautiful I found a young lady who was featured on the show. Well, much to my surprise, not only did she read the review but she wrote to thank me for the compliment. I was certainly flattered but I was even more surprised that someone I mentioned would actually take the time to write me.
That same week, I wrote another review of the FX series 30 Days. This particular episode featured a nice woman named Kati who spent a month with a same sex couple raising a group of kids. I wasn’t really surprised to see the amount of comments this review received considering what an controversial topic the show covered. However, I never expected that Kati herself, would take the time to write me and comment on how much she enjoyed the review.
I’ve been working for TV for a little over a year now and this is the first time anyone has written me to comment on how I reviewed them or their work and to make it more surprising, it happened twice in the same week,
As the week came to an end and the messages started to dwindle, I had a chance to reflect on what this means exactly and I came to a conclusion that simply reinforced what I have often thought… I am awesome!
Now for this week’s question…
What was the name of Morgan Spurlock’s character in his only acting appearance?
Congratulations G! You got the correct answer.
Coldplay Rocks Today Show Stage
Coldplay Rocks Today Show Stage
Always one to brighten the day of others when he can, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin made a young, injured fan’s day during an appearance on the Today Show on Friday (June 27).
According to press on hand, “The singer was rehearsing ahead of a live performance on the popular breakfast program in New York City, when he noticed a young boy named Lucas Bell in the front row with his arm in a cast.”
From there, “Martin stopped singing, reached down and grabbed Bell - the son of Today show executive producer Jim Bell - lifting him up onto the stage before grilling him about how he broke his arm.”
After the heartfelt moment, Chris and his fellow Coldplay rockers performed a string of hits for the thousands of fans who gathered outside the show’s Rockefeller Center studio - with hosts Meredith Vieira and Ann Curry kissing onstage while holding up some lingerie - like true rock star groupies!
