Madonna Dines With Her Guy

Madonna, Guy Ritchie

This should finally get people to shut up…right?

Determined to further squelch the incessant rumors that their marriage is on the skids, Madonna and her filmmaker hubby, Guy Ritchie, were seen stepping out Tuesday nighthand in hand, of coursefor a photo op dinner at ’Cesca, an Italian restaurant in the Big Apple.

What do you think? Is everything peachy-keen here, or does the “4 Minutes” singer have only about that much time left in this marriage?

Hellboy 2: Third Movie Trailer and Animated Prologue

Universal has released a third and final movie trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s Hellboy II: The Golden Army. Like the recent television spot, the new trailer starts off with the origin story from the first film, before showing off all the cool creatues and baddies in the new film. They have also released the animated prologue which opens the film on Apple.com. As always, tell me what you think in the comments below!

Watch the trailer in High Definition on Apple. Hellboy II: The Golden Army hits theaters on July 11th 2008.

JJ Abrams’ Enterprise Feels Fully Functional

Harry Knowles got the chance to see some early footage from JJ Abrams’ Star Trek. The few short clips he saw were early edits without proper cg or color timing. The one bit I found particularly interesting is the first description of the bridge of the USS Enterprise:

“For the first time in the history of Star Trek, [the bridge] looked amazingly functional. It echoes that classic Trek look – but imagine if you handed that design to the folks at APPLE and said… Make it really work. I instantly believed in the functionality of everything. That’s hard to quantify, but it is true. Remember when you saw the war room underground on Hoth in EMPIRE STRIKES BACK? How it just felt functional – that’s what this looked. And it looked Star Trek, without looking as cheap as Star Trek. It was a tech-fetishists wet dream.”

Bravo conjures up more Housewives, this time from Atlanta

Real Housewives of AtlantaHas Bravo gone to the well once too much? It sure seems that way. Hot on the success of The Real Housewives of New York City, which was inspired by The Real Housewives of Orange County, Bravo is now rolling out The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

Now, listen, I’ve watched the first two series; I admit that they are addictive. And they’re convenient because Bravo re-airs them again and again, but come on! This is like Coffee-Mate coming up with all these flavored creamers. Do we really need so many creamers?

And let me be just a little cynical here and note that unlike the Orange County and New York incarnations, The Real Housewives of Atlanta is the only one with women of color. It’s like the California version was comprised of country club types, the Big Apple had a Kosher connection, and Atlanta’s going to celebrate diversity.

According to Bravo, these Atlanta women are socialites, too, a key ingredient to enter the Real Housewives sisterhood. One is married to an NBA player (Eric Snow of the Cleveland Cavaliers), another is an entrepreneur, one is an aspiring recording artist. Bravo will air a preview of the series on Wednesday, July 30 at midnight.

I’ll probably tune in and give it a try, but I think it would behoove Bravo to start branching out a bit, and I don’t mean in the same reality genre. One reason a show like Flipping Out works for me is that it’s about a really interesting character. It wouldn’t work with just any real estate flipper. The secret isn’t in the title, it’s in the characters.
