While celebrities are usually spotted checking out high-end boutiques and expensive department stores, Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentzwere all about being frugal yesterday (July 6).
The newlywed parents-to-be were spotted strolling around the Melrose Trading Post held at Fairfax High School, holding hands while looking for bargains.
Looking more pregnant every day, the “Little Miss Obsessive” songstress sported a black maternity tank top and a long black skirt, while her Fall Out Boy hubby stuck to his usual black t-shirt and jeans topped off with a black fedora.
Following their retail jaunt, Pete and Ashlee headed over to Toast Restaurant in Los Angeles to meet a girlfriend for lunch. At one point, Mr. Wentz took off to give the ladies some time for girl talk.

Continuing along with their sociable ways, parents-to-be Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz visited a friend’s house in celebration of Independence Day on Friday (July 4).
The “Outta My Head” singer and her Fall Out Boy hubby chatted it up for awhile before toting their baby bulldog Rigby to the car for the short ride home.
As previously reported by , the couple were also out kick-starting the holiday weekend on Thursday - with Pete clowning around for the paparazzi by “getting wasted on water” before shooting off some fireworks.
As for the future, Ashlee and Pete are set to become parents later this fall, with a string of rumors that they’ll be welcoming a baby boy into their family - although the sex of the baby hasn’t been confirmed yet.

When a woman is pregnant, there is no telling what kinds of food she’ll crave day-to-day. And it looks like Ashlee Simpson had pizza on the brain yesterday (July 2).
The “Little Miss Obsessive” songstress was spotted with her new husband Pete Wentz on their way to their local California Pizza Kitchen in Los Angeles.
And Ashlee was looking hippie-chic in a strapless orange printed dress, showing off that growing baby bump of hers. Meanwhile her Fall Out Boy beau opted for a white t-shirt, distressed jeans, and a pair of black frame glasses completed by a black knit hat.
The Wentz-Simpsons have been overall very quiet regarding their expanding family. But rumor has it that they’ll be welcoming a baby boy into the world later this fall.

Newlyweds Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz were all smiles as they made their way through an Encino mall for an evening at the movies on Saturday (June 14).
For the weekend outing, Ashlee sported a baby-bump hiding black ensemble while Pete looked his usual self in a pair of tight black jeans, a white t-shirt and red sneakers.
Speaking about his baby-on-the-way, the Fall Out Boy rocker recently told In Touch weekly that he wants to find out the sex of the child before his “Outta My Head” singing wife gives birth.
Wentz commented: “I’d like to know the sex of the baby. It would be a bummer if you bought a boy a bunch of pink stuff!”
There’s also talk that not one, but two young Wentz’s are on the way, as Pete referred to his unborn child as “them” during a radio interview.
“We’ve been keeping a book so far, like a journal for them - for them when they’re, uh, born,” said Wentz.
