No Charges Against Amy Winehouse

No Charges Against Amy Winehouse

Though doctors have warned her that smoking is the last thing she should be doing, Amy Winehouse seemed happy to ignore the advice earlier today (June 30).

The troubled “Rehab” singer paid a visit to the GP and attempted to open the upstairs window to have a smoke.  When she was unsuccessful, she headed outside to light up, and was promptly greeted by fans seeking photos and autographs.

As previously reported by the , Winehouse continued her chain of controversy over the weekend when she punched an audience member during her set at the Glastonbury Festival in Somerset, England.

Lucky for her, the injured concertgoer isn’t going to press charges, and therefore authorities have no cause to investigate.  Following her gig, Amy returned to the clinic for further treatment.

Quote: WALL-E Director Andrew Stanton on Not Considering What The Audience Wants

Adrew StantonFinding Nemo and WALL-E director Andrew Stanton let another Pixar secret slip while being interviewed by Suite101.

“The day we start thinking about what the audience wants, we’re going to make bad choices. We’ve always holed ourselves up in a building for 4 years and ignored the rest of the world, because nobody are bigger movie geeks than we are, so we know exactly what we are dying to see with our family and kids. We don’t need other people to tell us that. We trust the audience member in ourselves.”

I think this is one of the key reasons why the guys at Pixar are master storytellers. I think someone like M Night Shyamalan might say/believe the same thing but with close-minded egotistical mindset. The guys at Pixar are willing to collaborate internally, with a mindset focused on the best possible film. It’s a shame, because Shyamalan is a talented director, with good ideas, but no perspective. He could learn a lot from Pixar’s creative process.

Jared Leto Hits Joans On Third

Jared Leto Hits Joans On Third

When it comes to celebrity lunch spots, few restaurants are more popular (or more paparazzi-covered) than Joans on Third.  And Jared Leto was spotted there yesterday lunching with a friend and enjoying the beautiful weather.

The 30 Seconds to Mars rocker was in his typical grunge-era garb, sporting a flannel shirt, black leather jacket, skinny jeans and a pair of Vans skate shoes.

Leto is still battling bad press for an incident that took place earlier this month in London, England involving him assaulting an audience member with a microphone.

Reportedly, Jared was performing the hit “Buddha for Mary” when he lashed out at a fan, using his microphone as a weapon.  It’s not clear whether he was provoked, or just having one of his trademark temper tantrums.  Leto was involved in a similar incident in May of last year at Netherlands’ Pinkpop festival.

Jimmy Kimmel to air primetime specials

Jimmy KimmelThe late night comedian will be appearing during your primetime schedule. Starting tomorrow, Jimmy Kimmel LIve will run special half-hour shows each night that ABC airs the basketball finals. Special guests include: David Beckham, Edward Norton, Charles Barkley, Liv Tyler, Adam Sandler, Eminem, Shaquille O’Neil, Magic Johnson and New Orleans Hornets guard and 2008 MVP contender Chris Paul, among others.

Out of the celebrities mentioned, I’m most interested to see Eminem. I haven’t seen the Real Slim Shady on TV in awhile. He’s always a good interview though — all that contrived hostility and testosterone in overdrive. Who are you looking forward to seeing? Or is Kimmel’s fabulousness enough to get you to tune in?

The schedule is after the jump.
