Christina Applegate Puckers Up
Christina Applegate Puckers Up
One of the simultaneously coolest/weirdest things about being an actor has got to be love scenes. And Christina Applegate was spotted in an awkward embrace on the set of her hit TV show.
The “Married…With Children” babe was caught in a lip lock with co-star Barry Watson while filming a scene for “Samantha Who?” yesterday.
On the show, Christina plays a formerly cranky/controlling executive who has a car accident and, via amnesia, forgets her attitude and becomes a loving, amicable woman.
In the scene filmed yesterday, Applegate’s character kisses Watson’s character (prior to the accident, he was her live-in boyfriend) and immediately appears to regret it. Sounds like an episode we won’t wanna miss!
Theaters Give Chace on Halloween
While CW fans get to know him as lacrosse-playing teen-about-town Nate Archibald on Gossip Girl, Chace Crawford has also been busy screaming for his supper.
The Haunting of Molly Hartley, a supernatural thriller starring the 22-year-old heartthrob (who also made magic in the teen-witch chiller The Covenant), has been given a Halloween 2008 release date after indie distributor Freestyle Releasing acquired the U.S. rights to the film, the company announced Thursday.
Crawford plays Joseph, the nice guy who befriends new-girl-in-school Molly (Haley Bennett), who, for unknown reasons, is becoming increasingly freaked out by… something.
Crawford is one on a long list of current and former CW/WB/UPN stars, including Chad Michael Murrary, Jessica Biel, Sophia Bush, Barry Watson, Tom Welling, Kristen Bell, Brandy and Emily VanCamp, who have flashed their scary sides to beef up their big-screen credentials.
Barry Watson on the Return of Samantha Who?

It's back!
Tonight, ABC's Samantha Who? returns to the tube with an all-new episode that is one of the series’ best so far. Not only do we get some good, quality Sam (Christina Applegate) and Todd (Barry Watson) time, but the writers make good use of the girls who often steal the show: Jean Smart (Regina) and Melissa McCarthy (Dena).
To celebrate, I checked in with Barry, who tells me the cast and crew are relieved to be back after the strike put the freshman hit in a holding pattern. “I feel like we were just starting to get some momentum going when everything had to stop," he said. "But things run so smoothly on this show. Everyone’s having a great time. Except for Jean. She and I just don’t get along. They have to separate us during table reads.”
Oh, if only that were true! Then SW could also be a scandalous reality series. But for better or worse, Barry was only joking and said he's hoping to branch out and work with some of the rest of the cast. “I think there is an effort to get Todd in some scenes with Jean and Kevin [Dunn] later this season, and hopefully I’ll get to spend time with the doorman too, since he does stand right outside my building.”
And is there hope for young Todd and his ex, Sam, now that he’s got a new lady, played by Lost’s Kiele Sanchez? “I think so,” said Barry. “More so now that Sam is good, instead of the [awful person she was pre-amnesia] whom he’d probably been trying to break up with for quite some time.” Christina's title-role character and series-regular status should help out, too!

Best News All Week? Samantha and Chuck "Canoodling"!

Okay, this is just too freakin' good not to pass along.
Two of our favorite TV actors who just so happen to play adorable titular characters on adorable shows who are looking for love have been spotted, according to Metromix Los Angeles, "canoodling" at a bar right in my own neighborhood. (Curses! Where was I last night? Oh, yeah, watching One Tree Hill.)
The cuddly could-be couple is none other than…
Christina Applegate (Samantha of Samantha Who?) and Zachary Levi (Chuck of Chuck), which you probably already figured out from that big photo and headline above, 'cause you are just that smart.
Having just chatted up Christina (behind the scenes) at Sunday's SAG Awards and spending much time over the past six months, um, trying to get close to Zach (for interview purposes only!), I can tell you these two are kind, gorgeous and funny in person and, yes, seem a ridiculously good fit.
In fact, if Chuck boss Josh Schwartz is a smart man (and you know he is), he's already thinking of how to get Christina on Chuck and into some kind of crazy Weinergirl or Sandwich Ho outfit. ('Cause as our hair guy, Dax, put it on Sunday's red carpet, "Forget Angelina. Christina Applegate was the hottest girl here all night.")
And Samantha could certainly use a little Zach Levi-Barry Watson love-triangle action, could she not?
Are we getting a little ahead of ourselves? You bet. But God bless these two for providing the potential for a great romantic-comedy storyline while the pencils are down.
