Paris the Ice Princess

Paris Hilton

All along, we thought Paris Hilton’s best sporting event was shopping. Would you believe it’s actually…ice hockey?

No, that’s not a typo.

“I’ve played ice hockey since I was 16 years old,” Hilton reveals to News. “And yes, I’m pretty good at it.” She even plans to teach boyfriend Benji Madden to play.

In fact, Paris says that while attending Canterbury High School in Connecticut, she was a member of the school’s ice-hockey team.

“And I still like to play,” says Hilton, pointing out there’s a rink in Culver City, Calif., where she occasionally hits the ice. “Though I don’t get to do it very often.”

Well, if that’s the new secret for staying skinny in Hollywood, sign us up.

But we also hear that since moving to a new gated community in Beverly Hills, far from the prying eyes of the paparazzi, she feels more comfortable displaying her sporty side.

Hilton is firming up for the promotional tour in support of her latest reality series, My New BFF, and has been in-line skating and bike riding through her neighborhood. She’s also given up sodas and all fast foodincluding her favorite, McDonald’s. That, and a hectic schedule, keeps her thin.

She confesses to hating gyms, just like the rest of us. What else does she avoid? Counting calories.

“I never do that,” she says. “I wouldn’t even know how to do that.”

Paris and Nicky Hilton Host Photography Event

Paris and Nicky Hilton Host Photography Event

The Photographers Gallery in Los Angeles, California got a little more fabulous last night, as Paris and Nicky Hilton hosted a swanky Tinseltown photography exhibit to benefit charity.

“The Good Life” which showcased artwork by photographers Slim Aarons and Murray Garrett even got an extra boost of Hilton presence, with mom Kathy and dad Rick showing up to check out the scene.

Paris’ boyfriend Benji Madden was spotted chatting and laughing with Papa Rick, a good sign that he’s been embraced by Paris’ family.

Speaking of Benji and Paris, it seems their collaborative skills have surpassed the lovers realm.  He’s reportedly helping her with the theme song for her new show.

Hilton told press, “Benji and I have been working hard on it.  He’s helping me write the lyrics for the song and then I’ll sing it, too.”

The former Simple Life hottie also divulged plans for a sophomore album.  “I’ll have another album come out, for sure.  I just don’t know when yet. I only have the summer off, then I’ll be taping another season of BFF. But an album is something I’ll do.”

Paris Pens Her Own Theme Song

Paris Hilton

Keep your ears perked, ladies and gentlemen, because the musical talents of Paris Hilton are heading back to the airwaves. And this time, she’s teaming up with her musician boyfriend, Benji Madden, to make it happen.

Paris tells News exclusively that the duo have been working in her new recording studio (conveniently located in her Beverly Hills mansion), writing songsincluding a theme for her upcoming MTV show My New BFF.

“Benji and I have been working hard on it,” Paris said. “He’s helping me write the lyrics for the song and then I’ll sing it, too.”

The reality show, which films Paris as she tries to train a new best friend among a pool of 20 contestants, ended taping earlier this week and is set to air mid-September, says the heiress.

And while she’s excited to perform her own theme song, that’s just the beginning. Remember that album Paris she released two years ago? Well, you guessed itshe wants a follow-up.

“Definitely,” she says. “I’ll have another album come out, for sure. I just don’t know when yet. I only have the summer off, then I’ll be taping another season of BFF. But an album is something I’ll do.”

Maybe she’ll pick up a few more musical tips when she meets up with Benji in Knoxville, Tenn., where his band is performing for the July 4 holidaya trip we presume she’s taking for “research” purposes, of course.
