Incredible Hulk

Our friends at IESB have gotten their hands on a 5-13-07 draft of Edward Norton’s The Incredible Hulk. The good news is that that they are raving about calling it an “incredible ride” that “will attract both fans and non-fans alike.” They claim it has the action and humor that the first film lacked. Here are some quick spoilers, read no further unless you want to know. Here are some of the highlights:

The Incredible Hulk: Three New Video Clips

Update: Added Third Clip.

The Incredible Hulk

Universal has released two new clips from The Incredible Hulk. I’ve been saying this for months, but I think Hulk will be the sleeper hit of the summer (maybe not in box office sales, but with fans). The first clip, which is available in HD on Yahoo or embedded below, features The Hulk destroying a police car in his fight with Abomination.

Two more clips after the jump.

The second clip shows what happens when the Hulk and Betty Ross (Liv Tyler) come under attack from the military. Watch the clip embedded below or in High Definition on MTV.com.

Update: IGN added a third clip, embedded below, which features a fight in the park between military commando Emil Blonsky and the Hulk.

The Incredible Hulk hits theaters on June 13th 2008.

The Incredible Hulk Goes to New York City

The Incredible HulkCS has posted this updated plot synopsis for Universal’s remake/sequel/do-over of The Incredible Hulk:

The explosive, action-packed adventure in one of the all-time most popular superhero sagas unfolds with a cure in reach for the world’s most primal force of fury: “The Incredible Hulk.” We find scientist Bruce Banner (Edward Norton) living in shadows, scouring the planet for an antidote. But the warmongers who dream of abusing his powers won’t leave him alone, nor will his need to be with the only woman he has ever loved, Betty Ross (Liv Tyler).

Upon returning to civilization, our brilliant doctor is ruthlessly pursued by The Abomination (Tim Roth)–a nightmarish beast of pure adrenaline and aggression whose powers match The Hulk’s own. A fight of comic-book proportions ensues as Banner must call upon the hero within to rescue New York City from total destruction. And on June 13, 2008…one scientist must make an agonizing final choice–accept a peaceful life as Bruce Banner or the creature he could permanently become: The Incredible Hulk.

Looks like the climax of the film will take place in New York City. San Francisco didn’t work out so great the first time around. It probably also would have helped if Ang Lee did a few less flashback sequences and gave The Hulk something more interesting than some mutant dogs to destroy. The new story sounds good, and I can’t complain about Louis Leterrier’s casting choices (Edward Norton, Tim Roth, William Hurt). I’m sure we’ll hear and possibly see more at Comic Con later this week.

William Hurt cast in The Incredible Hulk

William HurtAcademy Award winning actor William Hurt (Dark City, The Village) has joined the cast of The Incredible Hulk. Louis Leterrier (Transporter) plans to star shooting this summer in Toronto with Ed Norton as Bruce Banner, a scientist on the run, trying to avoid capture long enough to cure the condition that turns him into a monster.

Hurt will play General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, the father of Banner’s love interest, Betty Ross (Liv Tyler), who hopes to capture the Hulk. Tim Roth is also on board to play the comic book villain Emil Blonsky/the Abomination. Hurt seems perfect for the role, although I’m still not completely sure about Tyler (who seems to be the odd person out).
