Executive producer Allison Grodner spills some Big Brother 10 news - VIDEO
As Big Brother fans patiently await the press conferences and cast announcements for the new season, executive producer Allison Grodner has already been talking to the internet.
Now, what she has been saying interests me. As a long time fan of both the feeds and the show as well as being privy to the internet fan reaction, I’ve seen folks almost demanding a return of actual strangers in the house and more diversity in casting. Will this be our year? Read on past the jump for the video.
This sounds almost too good to be true. It sounds like we’ll see more than a token older person in the cast. Yikes! Perhaps last year’s sex strategy flopping made them realize that a good portion of the fan base doesn’t tune in just to see if 20-something sleazes have a showmance. Will we truly be back to the roots of the show? Strangers in the house? If so, I think we may have one of the best seasons ever!
TV Land renews She’s Got the Look
After She’s Got the Look showed steady ratings gains and growth in popularity, TV Land has decided to bring it back for a second season. This time they will expand the six episodes to eight. Premiering in 2009, She’s Got the Look 2 will once again search for a sophisticated, beautiful woman over the age of 35 who was destined for supermodel status.
Allison Grodner, executive producer of Blowout and Big Brother will helm the program once more. She’s excited TV Land picked up the show: “I’m thrilled that TV Land viewers can’t get enough of She’s Got The Look. I love the show and I am proud to be a part of a project that celebrates both age and beauty.”
TV Land president Larry W. Jones feels the same way: “The show’s message of reinvention and the pursuit of life-long dreams is something identifiable to our audience of 40 and 50 year olds. We can’t wait to introduce our viewers to another group of ageless beauties.” I have to agree with both Grodner and Jones. I can’t vouch for how entertaining She’s Got the Look is or isn’t, but I’m for any show that promotes beauty and self-confidence at any age.
The show is hosted by model Kim Alexis. The judges include Sean Patterson, president of Wihelmina Models; Beverly Johnson, the first African-American model to grace the cover of Vogue; and Robert Verdi, an in-demand stylist who has worked with Eva Longoria and Hugh Jackman. However, there is no confirmation as of yet that Alexis or the judges have signed for season two.
I remember seeing the promos for this show and thinking, “Wow, they got Beverly Johnson to be a judge.” She’s been on hundreds of magazine covers. She’s also written a few books. I thought that Johnson’s feedback for these women would probably be more helpful and more real than say, Tyra’s and Janice’s on Top Model. Not that Banks and Dickinson aren’t experienced models — it’s just that sometimes their feedback waxes dramatic and contrived.
Big Brother 10 - News, rumors, and speculation
Well, folks … it’s countdown time! Big Brother 10 premieres on Sunday, July 13 at 8 PM ET/PT. As I write this, casting has been completed but no formal announcements have been made. I will assure you that I won’t be in the house this season although I’ll be your fly on the wall. You can get your live feed reports here at TV. So, in a way, I’ll be in the house. But not in a way that the folks on the internet can rip me apart!
Despite the show being just two weeks away, there is little concrete news. But there are plenty of rumors and speculations floating about. Read on past the jump for scheduling news and lots of rumors.
Unfortunately, this season will be airing the same nights as last season. I personally didn’t care for the two consecutive nights as the houseguests had a flurry of activity jammed into just a few days with several days of down time. It doesn’t really affect those who just watch the shows, but it makes for very odd and sometimes very boring live feed viewing.
The schedule:
- Sunday 8 PM ET/PT
- Tuesday 9 PM ET/PT
- Wednesday 8 PM ET/PT
Confirmed facts:
Allison Grodner is once again the executive producer of the show while Arnold Shapiro bailed out before the start of last season. Julie Chen remains the host and will be once again handling the live eviction nights. There will be a live audience on eviction nights. If you live in the Los Angeles area or plan to visit there this summer, you can find the information about how to get tickets via Audiences Unlimited. Real.com will once again be offering the live feeds (for a fee, of course). Big Brother After Dark on ShoToo (Showtime sister network) will once again air the feeds nightly from 12 AM ET until 3 AM ET.
Rumors and speculation:
I scoured the internet gathering the most interesting rumors from sources such as JokersUpdates, casting director Robyn Kaas’ MySpace page, and more.
- The rooms will be decorated with themes from various decades from the ’50s to present day.
- Although the theme on recent promos is “Together Again,” that’s referring to Big Brother and the summer season, not that the houseguests will necessarily have any previous relationships.
- This cast will boast more diversity in ages, race, religion, and politics. (One can only pray this one is true!)
- The cast was selected for their strong and often opposing opinions on various issues in hopes of making for a more interesting season.
- There will be another winter season set for 2009.
- One of the finalists has already quit and an alternate was chosen.
- The finalists are expected to go into hotel sequester sometime this coming week.

Big Birthday Bash For Danielle Lloyd
Big Birthday Bash For Danielle Lloyd
It’s no secret that Danielle Lloyd is a bit of a party girl. And in celebration for the 24th birthday, the British babe needed two nights to get the job done.
Saturday night, Lloyd partied it up with her girlfriends at the Embassy Club in London. But that was just the warm-up for last night’s festivities.
The UK hottie let it all hang out (quite literally) at a “pimps and tarts party” at Faces nightclub in Essex. Dressed in a black corset and mirco-mini skirt, Danielle didn’t leave much to the imagination.
The guest list for the party included names like her boyfriend/soccer stud Jermain Defoe, and her Big Brother co-star Nikki Grahame. Even her ex-fiance Teddy Sheringham was included in the festivities.
