DMX Literally Lands in Jail

DMX, Mugshot

DMX is making a point of getting to know the bars everywhere he goes.

The beleaguered rapper was arrested for the third time in two weeks Wednesday when he landed in Phoenix and deplaned right into the cold embrace of an outstanding warrant issued when he, among other things, missed a court hearing.

DMX was flying in from Florida, where he was busted twice last weekon June 23 for driving with an invalid license and then four days later for allegedly trying to purchase marijuana and cocaine from an undercover cop.

Today’s bust at Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix was for the skipped court appearance, which pertained to his pending animal-cruelty and drug-possession case, and his run-ins with the cops last week, which violated the terms of his bail.

It’s possible that the Cradle 2 the Grave star may have pressed his luck one too many times. His lawyer said today that his client could have to remain locked up until his next court datewhich might not come for months.

“He was supposed to be in court today in Arizona, but he was picked up as soon as he arrived,” DMX’s attorney, Murray Richman, told MTV News. “The arrest was a result of him being arrested in Florida. That arrest violated the strict conditions of his $7,500 bond in Arizona, which stated that he could not be arrested while on bail.”

DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, pleaded not guilty in May to 11 counts of animal cruelty and drug possession for allegedly mistreating a number of pit bulls found at his Arizona home and having marijuana around the house when the cops showed up to search his property.

“I believed that we had a good, viable defense in that case,” Richman said, “but I’m sorry to say that Earl played into their hands when he got arrested for driving without a license and for being in a drug-prone area, which violated the terms of his bail.”

Alleged Winehouse Drug Dealers Done In

Amy Winehouse

Amy Winehouse’s beloved Blake may be getting some incarcerated company.

A couple suspected of acting as Winehouse’s drug dealers have been arrested and charged with conspiracy to supply cocaine and a form of Ecstasy by London police.

The arrest came about in the wake of an investigation into the infamous home footage of Winehouse, taken last January, in which she searches for her cat, brags about having taken a Valium and smokes an unknown substance from a pipe, among other unflattering behaviors.

In addition to Winehouse, the twosome are also under suspicion for supplying drugs to fellow Brit It girl Peaches Geldof, the 19-year-old daughter of global do-gooder and Live 8 organizer Bob Geldof.

Scotland Yard charged 34-year-old John Blagrove and his 22-year-old girlfriend, Cara Burton, after officers seized a memory stick from the couple’s computer that contained footage of Winehouse smoking the unknown substancestills of which were published in the Sun tabloid earlier this yearand Geldof handing cash to a man believed to be a drug dealer, video of which also made the British tabloid rounds last month.

The Winehouse footage was handed off to police by the ever-vigilant crack (so to speak) staff at the Sun on Jan. 22.

Both Blagrove and Burton face two counts of the conspiracy charges, which stem from deals reportedly done between Jan. 17 and March 3 of this year.

Winehouse herself was arrested for her part in the incoherent video May 7, after voluntarily turning up at a London police station.

The pair have been released on bail and are due to appear at Thames Magistrates Court on July 1.

Boy George Cleans Up for Free Show

Boy George

Boy George doesn’t want to hurt anyone. He just wants to entertain.

The British artist is planning a free concert for his one-time coworkers at the New York Department of Sanitation as a sign of appreciation for the good will he was shown while performing community service in the city two years ago.

George, whose real name is George O’Dowd, will perform during the department’s annual Family Day on Aug. 17. More than 5,000 people are expected at the event.

“The people I worked alongside showed great kindness to me at a very difficult time, and I wanted to thank them all in a way that would show my appreciation,” George said.

The former Culture Club frontman was so hounded by paparazzi on his first day of hauling trash that he was quickly moved from his visible post to a fenced-off area inside a parking garage.

“’New York’s Strongest’ are delighted that Boy George will join us at our Family Day outing in August and perform some of his fabulous hits for our hard-working men and women and their families,” First Deputy Commissioner Michael A. Bimonte said in a statement.

“Keeping New York City safe and clean is a daunting challengeas Boy George well knowsand we welcome his generous offer to entertain those who have made our City the cleanest it has been in more than 30 years.”

George pulled sanitation duty for five days after pleading guilty to falsely reporting an incident to police in order to avoid a drug-possession charge after NYPD officers, responding to a report of a break-in at the singer’s apartment, found 13 bags of cocaine in lieu of a burglar.

Ex Clubs 50 Cent with Lawsuit

Is 50 Cent trying to kick his baby mama to the curb?

Ex-girlfriend Shaniqua Tompkins, the mother of the rapper's 10-year-old son, Marquise, has sued Fiddy for breach of contract and unjust enrichment, claiming he's trying to evict them from their Long Island home.

In the single-page complaint filed Wednesday in New York State Supreme Court in Manhattan, Tompkins asks a judge to rule that she has a right to live in the residence, which 50 Cent bought for about $2.4 million. (View the lawsuit.)

She contends that her former beau, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, promised her and their son a safe place to live. He also pays monthly child support.

"This is somebody who was with him when he was shot and who nursed him back to health," Tompkins attorney, Paul Catsandonis, told the Associated Press. "I think what he's doing is horrible."

The "In Da Club" MC's lawyer didn't immediately respond to a call for comment.

Marquise was born Oct. 13, 1997, and 50 Cent, who had spent time in jail for dealing cocaine, has credited his son's arrival for helping him get his life in gearalthough it wasn't exactly smooth sailing from then on.

In 2000, Marquise was at Fiddy's grandmother's house in Queens when the rapper was shot nine times in the front yard. Although the attack kept the major labels away for a couple of years, 50 Cent eventually hooked up with Eminem and contributed tracks to the 8 Mile soundtrack before signing with Universal-owned Interscope Records.

Then it was on to a better life for his son, whose name he has tattooed inside an ax on his right bicep.

"The ax is 'cause I'm a warrior," Fiddy told Blender magazine in April 2005. "I don't want him to be one, though."
