Courteney Cox and David Arquette: Out to the Movies
Since their show “Dirt” fizzled, Courteney Cox and David Arquette are finding plenty of other projects to keep themselves busy.
And last night the former “Friends” hottie and her “Deputy Dewey” hubby were spotted at the Mann’s Chinese 6 Theatre in Los Angeles, California for the Hollywood premiere of “The Butler’s in Love.”
David was looking dapper in a black suit with a white shirt and black and silver tie, while his beautiful wife sported a shimmery blue short sleeved top with a pair of figure-flattering jeans and heels.
For “The Butler’s in Love,” Arquette assumed the director’s chair, while both he and Cox manned the Executive Producer role.
Courteney Cox’s New Role: Director!
Life goes on for Courteney Cox.
With the recently cancelled Dirt now history, Cox has gone behind the camera to direct The Monday Before Thanksgiving, a short for Glamour magazine’s Reel Moments film series, according to her hubby David Arquette.
“It’s amazing,” Arquette told me of his wife’s work last night at the premiere of his new short, The Butler’s in Love. “It’s family-related and involves a story that’s close to her heart.”
Cox follows in the footsteps of her best friend, Jennifer Aniston, who made her directorial debut at Reel Moments two years ago with Room 10, a drama costarring Robin Wright Penn and Kris Kristofferson. (Reps for Cox and Glamour declined to comment; an official announcement is expected sometime next month.)
As for David’s movie, it’s the first flick produced by the French Absinthe brand Le Tourment Vert’s new production company. The Butler’s in Love is based on a painting by artist Mark Stock that hangs in Bix, the San Francisco restaurant where Arquette and Cox held their rehearsal dinner the night before their wedding.
The work shows a butler holding up a glass with a lipstick stain and bottle of absinthe on a side table. “We didn’t have any absinthe at our wedding,” Arquette said with a laugh. “But I never forgot about the painting. I think of the romance behind it.”
The movie is also in 3-D, which explains the wacky plastic green glasses everyone was wearing in the theater, including Arquette and Cox’s adorable four-year-old daughter, Coco.
“You have to give them back,” Arquette said of the glasses. “It’s all about recycling.”
Also helping Arquette celebrate the premiere were siblings Patricia, Rosanna, Alexis and Richmond, Butler costars Elizabeth Berkley and Jennifer Siebel and 30 Rock’s Jack McBrayer.
John and Jen Trip Up the Border
Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer are really flying now.
E! News confirms the couple are on their way back to Los Angeles after spending a romantic weekend in Mexico. Their private jet is expected to touch down at Van Nuys Airport sometime tonight.
The Friends With Money star and the Heavier Things artist landed south of the border on Friday and then shuttled over to Casa Aramara, the beachfront villa owned by Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis in Punta Mita, which is just north of the resort town of Puerto Vallarta.
Aniston and Mayer logged plenty of hours in the sun, chilling (or warming, really) on chaise lounges, water-skiing and riding Jet Skis in the warm Pacific Ocean and dining al fresco.
And the duo didn’t need to waste any time getting the lay of the land. Aniston has been there at least twice beforeonce with a group of gal pals, including BFF Courteney Cox, and another time with then-boyfriend Vince Vaughn.

Jen & John’s Double Date With the Cox-Arquettes
Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer helped Courteney Cox and David Arquette celebrate their anniversary Thursday night, but that’s not what makes them humanitarians.
The foursome got together for Omnipeace.com’s dinner party at STK restaurant.
According to People, the two Friends were first joined by John, and then David came along after watching the Lakers-Celtics game at the bar. Ouch!
Once Mayer settled in next to her, Jen was seen slipping her arm around her man. But that wasn’t the only PDA between them…
Later in the evening, the group sipped wine while Jen and John held hands under the table.
Could they be following in their married friends’ footsteps? After all, Courteney and David were celebrating nine years of marriage that nightdespite his apparent fondness for watching sports on TV rather than keeping his wife company.
