Hellboy meets Chuck - VIDEO

Hellboy meets ChuckIn an effort to promote Hellboy II: The Golden Army, Universal Pictures is releasing a series of strange and humorous commercials. The first involved James Lipton interviewing Hellboy. Not Ron Perlman, but the character of Hellboy himself. The second has Hellboy meeting the title character from NBC’s Chuck (and I love how Ron Perlman’s character refers to Zachary Levi’s character as “Chucky”).

Hellboy is being distributed by Universal and since Universal and NBC are the same entity, I can understand how a crossover between the two is possible. I do wonder if there will be any promotion for the movie when the new season of Chuck begins. Probably not, since the film will have already left the theaters. Still, a Ron Perlman appearance as any character on the show would be kind of cool.

The patter between the two is great as they play video games. The question of “why doesn’t the government let us out more often” is hilarious.

Britney Spears’ Pussycat Dolls Cameo

Britney Spears’ Pussycat Dolls Cameo

She keeps making the right moves to get her career back on track, with daily trips to the gym, as well as staying out of trouble in order to help her public image.  And yesterday Britney Spears paid a visit to the Pussycat Dolls to add a little Toxic-style to their new video.

The “Gimme More” singer was spotted on her way to film a cameo for the Pussycat Dolls’ new video for their single “When I Grow Up,” although it was believed to be more of an acting role rather than a performance.  An insider commented, “It’s a small part.”

And speaking of cameos, Miss Spears may be considering a crossover to television, having been spotted exiting the Merv Griffin Productions offices last week.

As for her How I Met Your Mother gig, it sounds like the opportunity is there for a hat trick.  One of the show’s stars, Neil Patrick Harris, told press, “The door is open for her,” when asked about a third appearance.

What’s George Bush’s Deal?

Howie Mandel

The president will appear on Deal or No Deal Monday night.

Not as a contestant.

While we'd be interested in reducing the deficit through game-show winnings (not to mention case models!), President Bush will be on hand to offer a taped message of support to an Iraq war veteran appearing on the broadcast. We wish him luck.

Expect the inevitable crossover appearance in which one of the case models gets to carry the nuclear briefcase for a day. The question is: Which one?
