Christie Brinkley: Tearful at Divorce Trial

Christie Brinkley: Tearful at Divorce Trial

It’s a scenario no one looks forward to.  And as she arrived at the first day of her divorce trial this morning (July 2), Christie Brinkley appeared devastated.

The 54-year-old supermodel sported a white button-up shirt and a belted khaki skirt as she exited her car clinging to the arm of her lawyer and looking to be on the verge of tears.

She told press, “I’d hoped with all my heart we could have settled this out of court,” referring to some minor property disputes and a custody battle.  In her favor, Brinkley has a prenuptial agreement that should stand up in court to allow her to keep her assets.

Christie’s soon-to-be-ex-husband Peter Cook showed up soon thereafter, sporting a dark blue suit and told press he felt, “bad that we have to be here.” Cook cheated on Brinkley with his 19-year-old assistant Diana Bianchi, who will be one of the 44 witnesses called in the trial.

Britney Granted Overnights With Her Boys

Britney Spears

Britney Spears has made a subtle change for the betterand, it follows, so too have her custody rights.

This morning’s court session, attended by both Spears and Kevin Federline, resulted in “a change of visitation status” for the new aunt, Los Angeles Superior Court spokesman Allan Parachini told reporters at a brief posthearing press conference.

While Parachini wasn’t spilling the beans, sources told News that Court Commissioner Scott Gordon granted Spears overnight visits with her sons, beginning as soon as this weekend.

The modification has been a long time coming for the 26-year-old singer, whose attorneys have been hammering out a new custody agreement with Federline legal team for a while. The terms were finally agreed upon and approved by the court today.

“Both sides have been very cooperative the past couple of weeks,” said Parachini.

The boys2-year-old Sean Preston and 21-month-old Jayden Jamesare tentatively scheduled to spend Saturday night with Spears. Federline, 30, retains primary custody of the youngsters.

The outcome seemed to sit well with both parties.

When leaving the courtroom, Spears told reporters she was happy with today’s decision, and Federline made his way through the media scrum with a smile on his face.

Parachini also verified that the singer’s on-off attorney Laura Wasser was in fact back on Team Spears, and that the entertainer’s parenting coach made comments.

A status conference on the terms of the duo’s visitation is scheduled to take place July 15. A trial date for the ongoing custody battle is still scheduled for August.

Denise Richards: Court and Therapy

Denise Richards: Court and Therapy

Well, there’s certainly no shortage of material for Denise Richards’ new reality show.  And if things continue as they have, she’ll have a 10-season run on her hands.

The “Wild Things” babe was spotted at court today for an undisclosed matter regarding her tumultuous custody battle with her ex-husband Charlie Sheen.

Via cell phone, Richards told E! News’ Ryan Seacrest, “I am actually sitting in the parking lot of the courthouse…again.  I am sure everyone will hear about it and read about it later.”

She continued, “He [Sheen] decided to take me to court this morning, so I’m sitting in the parking lot…If he’s here, we will see each other today.  He’s the one taking me to court. He should be here.”

Denise expressed her dismay over the constant bickering, saying, “This is ugly and it’s embarrassing and it’s humiliating. It’s not healthy for our kids. I hope that we can resolve everything. It’s very sad for our children. This is not good.  For the girls’ sake, the best thing would be for he and I to be cordial…It could happen on my part. That’s all I can say.”

Yesterday Miss Richards was spotted on her way to family therapy with her two daughters, hopefully to get the help they need.
