DMX Busted Again, Again
DMX can run, but he can’t hide from trouble. Especially if he walks right up to it and demands it kick his butt.
The rapper, who’s currently facing animal-cruelty charges in Arizona, was arrested Friday afternoon in Miami after he allegedly tried to buy drugs from an undercover cop.
According to the police report obtained by the Miami Herald, DMX approached the officer and asked for ’’30 powder and 15 weed,” aka $30 worth of cocaine and $15 of marijuana.
The officer slapped the cuffs on the Cradle 2 the Grave star, whose real name is Earl Simmons, after he handed him $45.
Authorities said that they have not released the exact location where the bust took place because undercover officers are still operating in the area.
As of Friday evening, DMX was cooling his heels in Miami-Dade County jail.
And it turns out that this was his second bust of the week. Miami police also nabbed him Monday for driving with a suspended license. He was taken into custody at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center and released a few hours later after posting $500 bail.
Back in Arizona, the beleaguered MC has pleaded not guilty to 11 counts of animal cruelty and drug possession stemming from two raids at his Phoenix-area home in which SWAT teams found marijuana and a number of pit bull puppies that required immediate veterinary care for malnutrition and dehydration.
Kid Rock Hospitalized for Dehydration
Minutes before he was to hit the stage, Kid Rock pulled out of a performance in England Friday afternoon and was rushed to a hospital and treated for dehydration.
The 37-year-old rocker was scheduled to play at the Download Festival, a three-day British music concert that also featured Judas Priest, Incubus and The Offspring.
At the last minute, announcers told the audience that Kid Rock was unwell and wouldn’t perform. His rep later told reporters that his client was suffering from stomach cramps and dehydration.
Maybe the thought of ex-wife Pamela Anderson reuniting with Tommy Lee made him sick, too?
CariDee’s Not-So-Fierce Hospitalization
Someone is taking the “Please don’t feed the models” directive a bit too seriously.
Recently succeeded America’s Next Top Model Cycle Seven champ CariDee English was hospitalized for dehydration last weekend, after apparently falling ill at a club opening in Connecticut.
According to People, the catwalk queen was taken by ambulance from Shrine, a new restaurant and club at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods.
“CariDee did go to the hospital in the early hours of Sunday morning to be treated for dehydration,” a rep for the North Dakota native confirmed. “She called to be taken to the hospital. She is fine and back to work in Los Angeles.”
And, one hopes, being watered regularly.
DMX Pleads Not Guilty Across the Board
DMX is maintaining his innocence. He could stand to wind his watch, though.
During a brief hearing Thursday to which he arrived late, the actor-rapper pleaded not guilty to 11 counts of animal cruelty and drug possession stemming from a months-long investigation into reports of pit bull abuse at his Phoenix-area residence and a subsequent search of his home.
The seven dog-related charges are misdemeanors, while the four drug countsthree of which stem from a raid at DMX's home in August and another from marijuana allegedly found at the scene during another search last weekare felonies.
The Cradle 2 the Grave star, whose real name is Earl Simmons, is accused of mistreating 12 pit bulls found on his property last summer, which, according to the Maricopa County sheriff's office, had to be given emergency veterinary treatment for malnutrition and dehydration.
Another five puppies were confiscated during the cops' most recent trip to DMX's house, as well.
