Mr. Blonde’s London Meltdown
Say it ain’t so. Mr. Blonde has gone mental?
Michael Madsen, best known for playing the sadistic, ear-averse jewel thief in Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs, was forcibly hospitalized on Sunday after apparently going berserk and screaming at a woman in a London hotel.
According to U.K. media reports, the staff at the posh Dorchester called police after receiving complaints from guests about a disturbance coming from Madsen’s room in the West End hotel.
Officers found the 49-year-old thespian “screaming and shouting” at a female companion. When Madsen refused to calm down, cops forcibly restrained him and he was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where he was treated for cuts and bruises before being discharged. He was not arrested.
The Hollywood tough guy, in London after wrapping work on the film The Big I Am, checked into the Dorchester on Saturday with a woman described as his wife and their 5-year-old daughter.
Madsen has been married to De Anna Morgan, his third wife, since 1996, and the couple have three children together (he has two from a previous marriage).
The actor is most often known for roles as big-screen heavies in such films as Donnie Brasco, Mulholland Falls, Kill Bill and Sin City. Other notable credits include Thelma & Louise, Wyatt Earp, Free Willy, Species and Die Another Day.
Madsen’s rep, Liza Anderson, said she was aware of an incident but declined to comment.
Love and Rockets: Lost Fanvid Theater, To Keep You Warm When Lost Is Not on Tonight

Since Kristin is gone for the next couple of weeks, I’ve decided I can do aaanything I want in her absence—up to and including pretending this is my personal blog and you’re all dying to read my stream-of-consciousness posts about television.
As such…Lost fanvids! Whee! I seriously love these things; I am insanely jealous of those who know how to make them, and I’ve been known to procrastinate the hours away on LostVideo.net, from whence many of these came. (This is stuff is, like, better than Tetris!)
Anyway, since our show is off this evening, if you need some Lost goodness to get you through tonight (after you watch Grey’s and SYTYCD of course), click in to check out what I think are some of the best of the best.

Naomie Harris And Rick Yune Join Ninja Assassin

The Hollywood Reporter have announced that Naomie Harris and Rick Yune have joined Ninja Assassin. The film is apparently filming as you read this, and is being produced by Speed Racer directors, the Wachowski Brothers. V for Vendetta director James McTeigue will be sat in the directors chair, for what apparently is an original film. No comic books, no graphic novels, no novel, no anything. A writer has actually been paid to use his imagination for once!
The title of the film is a good indication of what we may get, producer Joel Silver has described it as a “full on martial arts movie.” He also says it’s has the theme of revenge running through it.
It certainly sounds interesting. Naomie Harris is best known for her role as Tia Dalma in the Pirates of the Caribean trilogy. She has also appeared in the amazing 28 Days Later and more recently, Street Kings.
Rick Yune is best known for being a Bond villain in Die Another Day, who had the unfortunate (or fortunate depending on how you look at it) accident involving diamonds blowing up in his face, and embedding themselves there.
Rick Yune spoke of his role:
“Not to give too much away, (but) my character stays within what he was brought up with, and they go up against each other,” Yune said. “I’m not a heavy. The characters are ninjas, they are assassins, and there’s this mix of morality the Wachowskis are exploring.”
Warner Brothers have yet to announce a release date, but I’m guessing we will see this sometime in 2009.
Daniel Craig will be 007 until 2014!
According to The Hollywood Reporter and Obsessed With Film, Daniel Craig is contracted for four more Bond films. MGM chairman and CEO Harry Sloan added that franchises are “the base of any studio”. Which in other terms means they make them the most money. Adding more films to the Bond franchise is a good move, especially with Daniel Craig playing the lead.
Casino Royal gave the franchise a much needed jolt, I mean Die Another Day wasn’t bad, it was just that they thought they needed to top the previous film in terms of gadgets, action and effects, but it just made things a lot more unbelievable. Invisible car? Surfing a huge wave of ice?
If Daniel does complete all the films in his contract he will be one behind Sean Connery and two behind Roger Moore, and will probably make him ‘the’ James Bond for a whole new generation. No doubt the franchise will need another jolt in 7 years time, maybe we will get a 3D view of that iconic gun barrel, but until then we can just wait and hopefully, enjoy.
