Gwyneth Paltrow’s Two Lovers
Gwyneth Paltrow’s Two Lovers
She’s married to Chris Martin from Coldplay, and has two amazingly cute kids, but Gwyneth Paltrow isn’t satisfied to rest on her laurels. She recently began filming a new movie, and it sounds like a good one.
The “Shallow Hal” actress began working on “Two Lovers” two weeks ago in New York City, despite the fact that she’s become really picky regarding which projects she’ll agree to.
Director James Gray, revealed, “I said to her, ‘Will you come do this with me and Joaquin?’ And she said for me to send her the script: ‘I don’t know, Apple has school in the fall.’ I sent her the script, and she liked it.”
Speaking of Joaquin Phoenix, reportedly he and Gray are buddies after having worked on “We Own The Night” together. But “Two Lovers” isn’t in the same violent vein as “Night.”
Gray, who also co-wrote the film, told press, “It’s a small and rather beautiful romance between Joaquin Phoenix and Gwyneth Paltrow. It has nothing to do with this — no shootouts.”
V For Vendetta’s James McTeigue to Direct Revelation
Director James McTeigue looks to follow-up his gig on the Wachowskis-produced Ninja Assassin, currently in production, with Revelation, a thriller with a sci-fi twist from Inferno Distribution. The pic will follow a female journalist following a string of “bizarre murders and discovers that the victims were all treated by the head of an org that researches alien abductions.” The brothers Wachowski are not listed as being involved this go around. John Salvati, who penned 2009’s Dali and I: The Surreal Story starring Al Pacino, wrote the screenplay. Nothing about this news makes me raise an eyebrow or a sparkler just yet, you?

Nationwide Sneak Preview of 3:10 to Yuma on September 2nd
Lionsgate is so sure people will like 3:10 to Yuma, that they have decided to run a nationwide sneak preview on September 2nd 2007.
We are pleased to announce the SNEAK PEAK of 3:10 to Yuma, the new film from director James Mangold (WALK THE LINE), starring Russell Crowe, Christian Bale, Gretchen Mol and legendary Western star, Peter Fonda. The highly anticipated film will be showing in theaters on Sunday, September 2nd, the weekend prior to its wide release on September 7th.
I’ve heard a lot of good things about this one, although, I’m not really a fan of westerns.
The Wachowski Brothers Rework The Invasion

We previously reported that The Wachowski Brothers were brought in to work on some reshoot material for the upcoming BodysnatchesThe Invasion remake . Well apparently there is MUCH much more to this story. Our friends over at Collider claim that the Brothers were brought in to rewrite over 70% of the movie. Here is what happened.
When an early rough cut studio screening of The Invasion tested poorly, Warner Bros demanded reshoots. The original cut was more of an artsy/talky film, and not the summer tent-pole action film Warner was hoping for. But director Oliver Hirschbiegel was “unavailable” (or most likely not wanted), Joel Silver brought in his Matrix pals to shoot a new ending. This is the story we already knew. But what we didn’t know was that the Wachowski Brothers actually rewrote more than 2/3rds of the film, and brought in their trusted colleague and V For Vendetta director James Mcteigue to finish the movie.
I don’t know exactly how true this new story is. We do know that the reshoots took place sometime between October 2006 and February 2007. Even if they only re-shot for two months, that would have given them enough time to redo a huge chunk of the movie. So it is very possible. But if Mcteigue reshot so much of the film, why is Hirschbiegel being given the sole director screen credit? And could the resulting film be anything less than a mess?
