Gwyneth Paltrow’s “Two Lovers”
Gwyneth Paltrow’s “Two Lovers”
Gracing the red carpet with her dazzling self, Gwyneth Paltrow attended the Cannes Film Festival in southern France on Monday (May 19) for the screening of her new movie, Two Lovers.
Not alone on the red carpet, Miss Paltrow was joined by director James Gray, Italian designer Valentino, Israeli actor Moni Moshonov and US actress Vinessa Shaw.
Wearing a black satin Chanel dress, some eye-catching dangling earrings, and a simple-but-elegant updo, Gwyneth looked radiant as ever as she showed off her pearly whites for the camera.
The 35-year-old actress’s new movie “Two Lovers” is a Brooklyn-set romantic drama about a bachelor (Joaquin Phoenix) torn between the family friend his parents wish he would marry and his beautiful but volatile new neighbor (Paltrow).
Naomie Harris And Rick Yune Join Ninja Assassin

The Hollywood Reporter have announced that Naomie Harris and Rick Yune have joined Ninja Assassin. The film is apparently filming as you read this, and is being produced by Speed Racer directors, the Wachowski Brothers. V for Vendetta director James McTeigue will be sat in the directors chair, for what apparently is an original film. No comic books, no graphic novels, no novel, no anything. A writer has actually been paid to use his imagination for once!
The title of the film is a good indication of what we may get, producer Joel Silver has described it as a “full on martial arts movie.” He also says it’s has the theme of revenge running through it.
It certainly sounds interesting. Naomie Harris is best known for her role as Tia Dalma in the Pirates of the Caribean trilogy. She has also appeared in the amazing 28 Days Later and more recently, Street Kings.
Rick Yune is best known for being a Bond villain in Die Another Day, who had the unfortunate (or fortunate depending on how you look at it) accident involving diamonds blowing up in his face, and embedding themselves there.
Rick Yune spoke of his role:
“Not to give too much away, (but) my character stays within what he was brought up with, and they go up against each other,” Yune said. “I’m not a heavy. The characters are ninjas, they are assassins, and there’s this mix of morality the Wachowskis are exploring.”
Warner Brothers have yet to announce a release date, but I’m guessing we will see this sometime in 2009.

Gwyneth Paltrow was spotted taking to the New York City set of her latest film, “Two Lovers,” on Monday (November 26).
The Academy Award winning actress, who stars in the movie alongside Gladiator hunk Joaquin Phoenix, even brought 3-year-old daughter Apple Martin to work for the day.
As previously reported by , Director James Gray told press of getting Gwyneth to take the role, “I said to her, ‘Will you come do this with me and Joaquin?’ And she said for me to send her the script: ‘I don’t know, Apple has school in the fall.’ I sent her the script, and she liked it.”
Speaking of the film, Gray told, “It’s a small and rather beautiful romance between Joaquin Phoenix and Gwyneth Paltrow. It has nothing to do with this — no shootouts.”
Eva Mendes Dishes About Sex Scene
Eva Mendes Dishes About Sex Scene
Part of the job as an actress sometimes involves getting freaky with a friend. And for Eva Mendes, her sex scene was a bit uncomfortable early on.
For her movie, “We Own The Night” Mendes acted out her first sex scene with “Walk The Line” star Joaquin Phoenix. “I wasn’t comfortable at all,” she told reporters Friday at the Cannes press conference.
“They were very sweet and they poured me a vodka and orange juice and then I was fine,” she said. “I’m very professional and I don’t usually drink on the job but that morning I had a little vodka and OJ,” she said, laughing.
“It was my first sex scene and thank God it was with [director] James Gray. Not that it was actually with James,” she said, correcting herself to much laughter. “He did it at the end of the shoot, so it was the last day and I was really, really comfortable with these clowns,” she said, indicating Phoenix and Gray.
Apparently, it didn’t help Mendes to think of it being her character instead of her. “My boob is still my boob.” She paused, then added: “Wow, that sounded really stupid.”
Enjoy the pictures of Eva at the “We Own The Night” photocall in Cannes on May 25, as well as the Wendell Baker Story premiere a few weeks back.
