DKNY Draws Ali Larter, Rashida Jones

DKNY Draws Ali Larter, Rashida Jones

Wednesday night, Donna Karan New York hosted a Midtown Manhattan bash to celebrate the release of their new fragrance “DKNY Delicious Night.” And Ali Larter and Rashida Jones were among the Hollywood A-listers glamming it up.

With a glass of champagne in hand, the Heroes hottie gushed about her love of the Big Apple.  “I’m so excited to be here in the city. I’m here with my girlfriends, and we’re going to have an amazing night. We’re going to have a great dinner at the Waverly (Inn) and drink champagne until dawn.”

When asked about her ideal NYC adventure, she replied, “The exact one I’m describing. That’s what we do.  It’s not about dancing in nightclubs. It’s about having a great bottle of wine and great conversation.  It’s a sexy city, and I’m excited to be here.”

Of her favorite activity in which to partake, Rashida Jones (currently working on both the Office and Unhitched) said, “Just walk around and make decisions as I’m walking of what to do. You can’t do that in L.A. People stare at you like you’re crazy. People don’t really walk. You sit on your (bottom) in the car all day long. It’s insane.”

Both Larter and Jones may be sitting on their collective bottom for awhile, along with the rest of those affected by the writer’s strike in the entertainment industry.

Ali told press, “It’s a very precarious time in Los Angeles. We can only shoot for a couple more days. It’s affected everyone, from our writers to our production assistants to craft service. You have to stand up for what you believe in, but the repercussions are — it’s just a difficult time for everyone.”

And Jones, whose new show doesn’t start filming until 2008, said that it’s tragic, even though it hasn’t put her out yet.  “It’s affected so many of my friends. It’s only a couple of days in, and it’s a bummer. These people work so hard, and they’re the glue of the industry. They’re the reason the industry ticks, and to not give them the modicum of respect they deserve — it bums me out. I hope everyone comes to their senses.”

Kate Moss Was Begging For Drugs, Says DJ

Kate Moss Was Begging For Drugs, Says DJ

According to a DJ at Davinia Taylor’s 30th birthday party last weekend, Kate Moss was in the market for some party supplies - and we’re not talking about confetti and balloons.

It was DJ Elliot Eastwick who outed the supermodel to the Daily Mirror, claiming that Kate begged for an assortment of different drugs, ranging from marijuana and cocaine to an over-the-counter substance called alkyl nitrate.

Eastwick told the British newspaper: “It was obvious to me she was on drugs. She kept saying, ‘Make me rave’, and demanded I change the music. Then someone in Kate’s group started rolling cannabis spliffs. Kate then pulled out some poppers from her handbag and started snorting them. You could see her loll as it took effect.”

“She grabbed my lower arm, pulled me towards her and yelled, ‘Who’s got the drugs?’ I told her I didn’t know and didn’t have any but she said, ‘I want some gear. You’re a DJ, you must have some,’” informed Elliot.

The DJ went on to tell, “She was tapping on a record sleeve in the motion of someone racking up lines of coke. It was obvious what she was after. I remember thinking, ‘God, Kate Moss just asked me for cocaine. Then she and some mates disappeared into a back room and when she came back she was bouncier than ever. It was obvious she was on something.”

Let’s just hope that Kate hasn’t decided to throw away two years of hard work, along with her recent contracts with Louis Vuitton and Donna Karan and Virgin Mobile.

Victoria Beckham: Back in the Big Apple

Victoria Beckham: Back in the Big Apple

While the Spice Girls have cut their tour a bit short, they still have a few more dates to play.  And Victoria Beckham is making the most of her touring status by doing a little shopping in New York City.

The paparazzi caught up with Posh yesterday on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, doing what she does best- spending money.

Reportedly, the British babe stopped into the Donna Karan and Tom Ford boutiques located on the swanky Madison Avenue.

Looking her best, as always, Victoria was sporting a grey tweed dress with a cream colored coat, and of course her “I’m a rich celebrity” sunglasses.  A few hours later, she joined the rest of the Spice Girls for their concert at the Nassau Coliseum.
