Ryan & Farrah’s Kid Cops to Drug Rap
Another grim day in the O’Neal household.
Just weeks after half-sister Tatum was busted for attempting to buy crack in New York, Redmond O’Neal has copped to possessing heroin and methamphetamine in Malibu.
The younger O’Neal, the 23-year-old son of Ryan O’Neal and Farrah Fawcett, pleaded guilty yesterday to two felony counts of possession and one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence, according to Jane Robison of the Los AngelesCounty District Attorney’s Office. Per the plea deal with prosecutors, a second DUI charge was tossed.
Malibu Superior Court Lawrence J. Mira sentenced O’Neal to three years’ probation and ordered him to pay $1,688 in restitution and fines in connection with the misdemeanor charge.
O’Neal was ordered to remain in drug rehabilitation until July 9, when a court will decide if he is eligible for the state’s drug-diversion program on the felony counts.
Redmond O’Neal, whose drug habit was at the center of a dicey skirmish between half-brother Griffin and father Ryan last year, was arrested Jan. 26 after getting caught speeding on the Pacific Coast Highway.
Kanye West Mom’s Doc Without License, Again
It remains to be seen whether the man who operated on Kanye West’s mom ever operates again.
Dr. Jan Adams’ license to practice medicine expired yesterdaynot because of patient-related issues or his DUI troubles (which include an arrest earlier today on suspicion of driving under the influence), but because he has yet to cough up child support that he owes his ex, a spokesman for the Medical Board of California confirmed to News.
The California Department of Consumer Affairs sent Adams a letter last month informing him that he had 30 days to write a check or risk losing his license, a fate that reportedly also befell him in 2006 for three months, also for failure to pay child support.
Once the doc is back in good standing with his support obligations, renewal of the license can proceed, board rep Russ Heimerich said.
Adams, however, was arrested in the Northern California city of Vallejo early Thursday morning after police spotted him using an off-ramp to get on the freeway. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Solano Superior Court on Monday.
Meanwhile, the California Attorney General’s Office is still trying to revoke Adams’ license and make him pay for the medical board’s troubles stemming from two prior DUI busts, one of which involved a run-in with another vehicle, per documents filed last year.
And, Heimerich told E!, Adams’ latest arrest could add weight to the government’s case.
“It is not uncommon for us to add new charges when they occur,” he said.
Adams, who used to host his own reality show on Discovery, Plastic Surgery: Before & After, weathered serious scrutiny after the sudden death of Donda West on Nov. 10, a day after she underwent an elective tummy tuck and breast reduction.
The official coroner’s report couldn’t pinpoint an exact cause of death, but cited evidence of coronary artery disease and “multiple postoperative factors due to or as a consequence of liposuction and mammoplasty.”
Adams, who told the Los Angeles Times that when Donda West left his office “there was no problem whatsoever,” said that he believed he knew “exactly what happened to her” (but wouldn’t share until he saw the final report) and speculated that she had suffered a heart attack or a pulmonary embolism or taken an accidental overdose of painkillers.
That very same day he canceled a scheduled interview on Larry King Live, explaining that the West family had requested he not go through with it.
Young Jeezy Busted in the ATL
This Go Getta went and got himself a DUI.
Rapper Young Jeezy was collared at 2:30 a.m. in Atlanta for allegedly driving under the influence and some bad motoring skills, authorities tell News.
According to police, the hip-hopster was behind the wheel of a white Corvette on the ATL’s Buford Highway thoroughfare near Interstate 85 when he was pulled over. Along with the DUI, officers cited him for speeding, reckless driving, missing tags, driving with an open container and failing to show proof of insurance.
The 31-year-old Jeezy, whose real name is Jay Jenkins, was taken into custody and booked at a nearby station before being released on bail several hours later.
He’s scheduled to return to court July 17.
Reps for the MC were not immediately available for comment.
Jeezy was in town to perform at Hot 107.9’s annual Birthday Bash, an all-star concert that also featured Kanye West and Usher.
The rapper, whose latest album, The Recession, drops in August, is no stranger to law enforcement.
He was arrested for disorderly conduct at a strip club in 2007. A year earlier, he managed to avoid potentially serious charges after Miami prosecutors couldn’t find enough evidence to charge him following an arrest in a shooting incident.
