Fergie Gets Ready For Bluesfest
With white snakeskin handbag in arms, Stacy “Fergie” Ferguson made her way to Los Angeles International Airport for a departing flight on Thursday (July 3).
Followed by paparazzi from her house to the LAX security checkpoint, the Black Eyed Peas frontwoman was reportedly catching a flight to Canada as she prepares to perform at the Ottawa Bluesfest on Tuesday (July 8).
The festival, which kicked off yesterday, is in it’s 15th year and is now Ottawa’s largest music festival with more than 200 acts ready to perform.
Press reports tell that the entertainers are divided among six stages each day - with the Black Crowes, James Taylor, the Tragically Hip and Great Big Sea joining Fergie as the main stage headliners.
Yeardley Smith files for divorce
She’s been the voice of precocious child Lisa Simpson on The Simpsons since she was 23 years old, but her problems are more grown up. Yeardley Smith has filed for divorce from her husband of six years.
The reason cited for her split from Daniel Erickson was “irreconcilible differences.” This is the second divorce for Smith, having divorced actor Christopher Grove in 1992. Smith is planning to change her last name back to Smith from Erickson. The couple have no children.Smith is also known for her supporting role on the television show Herman’s Head and a 17 episode stint on Dharma & Greg. She has appeared in several movies including Toys, As Good As It Gets and City Slickers.
I’ve often said that it’s tough to make marriages work in show biz (although it could be said of any business, but I think it’s particularly difficult for entertainers). I think it has to do with the instability of the lifestyle. Gentlemen, if the sound of Lisa Simpson’s voice is a big turn on for you, now is your chance. She’s back on the market.

Miley Cyrus: Ready to Rock Z100 Zootopia
Ready to rock in a purple and black skull ‘n bones outfit, Miley Cyrus was on hand at Z100’s Zootopia 2008 Z-Village Pre-Show at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Saturday (May 17).
And while she still carries a fan base that would make most entertainers drool, the Disney tween queen has been fighting a bit of negative press as of late.
Most recently, it was reported by that a band called Lustra is considering legal action against Cyrus for stealing one of their songs.
Since that time, a spokesperson for Cyrus responded to the allegations, saying: “She doesn’t write the songs - she sings them. We have referred this to Disney.”
According to the New York Post, the band “is considering various options to rectify the situation.”
Will Smith and Charlize Theron Steam Up Hancock Set
Will Smith and Charlize Theron Steam Up Hancock Set
In Hancock, a movie scheduled to be released in July of next year, Will Smith plays the role of a down on his luck superhero that the public has turned against for various reasons.
Joining the ranks of politicians, entertainers, and CEOs, it now appears that superheroes can also benefit from a little media manipulation.
What makes this story unique and engaging is that the superhero makes several questionable decisions when faced with ethical issues.
The plot is given a nice jolt of adrenalin when Smith’s character chooses to involve himself in a sexual relationship with the wife (Charlize Theron) of the head of the PR firm he just hired to fix his image. Not always the best decision to mix business with pleasure, and the ramification of thinking with the wrong head in this situation creates a story line that is fun to follow.
While Hancock is not scheduled for release until next year, it is already generating a lot of Hollywood buzz from some recent pictures that captured Will with Charlize filming some steamy scenes. It will surely be interesting to see what other secrets Hancock is hiding.
