While Angelina Jolie also discussed acting, her two upcoming films and her time spent as an activist and (once upon a time) as Billy Bob Thornton’s wife in her recent sit-down with Entertainment Weekly, it’s difficult not to be distracted by what she had to say about her current marital status, that mysterious etching on Brad Pitt’s back and why being pregnant with twins has forced her to get creative in bed…
- On her relationship with Pitt and their tendency to go to “extremes” as a couple: “Well, certain things are private! But there’s a side of us that’s so mommy-daddy and then there’s a side of us that’s…very man and woman. I’ll leave it at that.”
- On not being married: “It’s not a big intentional thing not to marry. We immediately were a family when we became a couple, and children were the priority, and we’re both legally committed to the children. And that seemed to be the right thing.”
- On how it feels to know they’ll soon have six kids: “Well, we weren’t expecting twins! So it did shock us, and we jumped to six quickly. But we like a challenge. We really don’t know…The only thing for us when a new child comes home is just balancing the others. Our real focus now is: How do we make sure that the babies’ coming is not upsetting to other kids and makes them feel included.”
- On that new tattoo Pitt’s sporting: “I drew that. We went to Davos [Switzerland]. It’s not that we were bored at the World Economic Forum, but one night we didn’t have anything to do, so I was drawing on his back…The picture everybody saw was kind of awkward, but it just lines up beautifully on his back, just enhances the part of the body I like.”
Oh, and the only way Jolie’s pregnancy could get any sexier would be if she dipped herself in chocolate before slipping into those billowy dresses.
Pregnancy is “great for the sex life,” the Oscar winner said. “It just makes you a lot more creative. So you have fun, and as a woman you’re just so round and full.”

The paparazzi at LAX airport yesterday were lucky enough to catch a quick glimpse of Angelina Jolie getting ready to get on her flight. And rumor has it she’s traveling internationally.
The “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” actress was wearing an all-black ensemble and carrying one piece of carry-on luggage as she made her way to the British Airways gate.
A source claims that, “Jolie is flying to Amman, Jordan,” although it’s not known whether she’s going there for United Nations work, or some other charitable reason.
But one thing’s for sure- she’s taking extra precautions with her own safety. After all, she and her beau Brad Pitt are rumored to be expecting twins, though no official announcement has been made.

Angelina Jolie proudly displayed her baby bump on the red carpet at the 2008 Film Independent’s Spirit Awards on Saturday afternoon (February 23).
Accompanied by her partner Brad Pitt, the Beowulf babe was aglow in a conservative black dress that flowed over her growing tummy.
The Mr and Mrs Smith co-stars are thought to be expecting twins, adding to a family that consists of three adopted children, Maddox, 6, Pax, 4, and Zahara, 3, as well as a 21-month-old biological daughter Shiloh.
Both Brad and Angelina are slated to make appearances at tomorrow night’s Academy Awards, as well. Let’s just hope that Angelina can get the rest that she needs as an expecting mother.
Brangelina Buns Still in the Oven
Despite rampant reports to the contrary, the Jolie-Pitt offspring count is at four, and holding.
Angelina Jolie’s manager, Geyer Kosinski, told News that stories of the actress and Brad Pitt welcoming twin daughters this week are “not true,” meaning the most-watched baby bump in the world has yet to pop.
Pitt manager Cynthia Pett-Dante also was in full denial mode, labeling the birth reports premature. “It is a rumor,” she said.
Similarly, a source close to the family in France told News that Jolie was still at her Provence home sans newborns as of Friday morning.
The stork non-delivery puts the kibosh on voraciously circulating and rather detailed reports, led by Entertainment Tonight, that Isla Marcheline and Amelie Jane arrived via C-section at a Catholic clinic in Aix-en-Provence.
By Friday evening, ET had removed the story from its website.
While Jolie has previously claimed that she wants to give birth in her late mother’s home country, she has yet to confirm the genders of her pending progeny, let alone whether they will in fact be named in honor of their grandparents (Jolie’s late mother is Marcheline; Pitt’s is Jane).
Regardless, whenever the genetically blessed babes make their debut, they will mark kids No. 5 and 6 for the Jolie-Pitt brood, joining Maddox, 6; Pax, 4; Zahara, 3; and Shiloh, who turned 2 just this week.
Jolie left it up to Kung Fu Panda costars Jack Black and Dustin Hoffman to serve as advance men for the baby news while promoting the cartoon at Cannes earlier this month. Black confirmed that Jolie and Pitt were expecting twins, while Hoffman may prove himself as potentially reliable as Deep Throat, claiming the babies weren’t due until Aug. 19.
Last weekend, word broke that that the 32-year-old Oscar winner and Pitt, 44, were moving into the 1,000-acre, $60 million Chateua Mirval, complete with 35 bedrooms, a vineyard and a moat, just outside Aix-en-Provence. The family relocated to France back in April in anticipation of the baby-delivering.
All week long, delivery trucks have been pulling up to estate, bringing furniture and toys for the kids, including a delivery of ATVs for Pax and Maddox.
In other words, the babies may not have arrived, but the nesting is in full effect.
