Pete Wentz Gets a Baby Bulldog

It looks like his famous bulldog Hemingway has a new friend - Pete Wentz proudly displayed his new puppy Rigby on a Starbucks run over the weekend.

Carrying an iced venti caramel macchiato in one hand, and the new pup in the other, the Fall Out Boy bassist smiled for the paparazzi as he made his way to his car.

Always self-promoting, Pete was wearing a Clandestine Industries zip-up hoodie overtop a red t-shirt with dark grey jeans and some retro-looking hi-tops.

Of the new addition to the family, Pete recently blogged, “Meet Rigby. She’s ten weeks right now and pretty much follows Hem around.”

He may be the object every teenage emo girl’s affection, but Pete Wentz is ready to make the transition from rockstar heartthrob to proud papa.

In a recent interview, the Fall Out Boy bassist told press that, along with his new bride Ashlee Simpson, he can’t wait for his child to be born.

“I’m excited to be a dad.  I’m a genuinely nervous person. The first time I ever went to the doctor’s office and heard the heartbeat, I felt totally content and at peace with everything. It feels good.”

As previously reported by the just last week, Mr. Wentz finally confirmed the pregnancy on his website, saying it was, “the most joyous time in our lives and we are excited to share the happy news and start our family.”

Supportive Pete Celebrates His B-Day Sans Cocktails

Pete Wentz turned 29 yesterday and marked the occasion with a big bash at Foxtail with new wife Ashlee by his side. And although the dad-to-be has lots of reasons to celebrate, a source says he never raised a glass the entire evening.

Looks like Pete’s not drinking because Ash can’t either…How sweet!

Even without booze, the birthday boy seemed to have a great time. Although Brent Bolthouse had the entire upstairs area reserved exclusively for their party, Pete and Ash spent most of their time downstairs, chatting and shaking hands with regular folks.

She was dressed in a black minithat didn’t show any signs of a bellyand gladiator-style stiletto heels. Pete matched perfectly, wearing black slacks and a button-up.

Around midnight, the waitstaff brought out a a cake for Pete and everyone (including his dad) sang “Happy Birthday.”

(It took the Fall Out Boy bassist several tries to blow out his candles, but he finally managed, all while getting frosting smeared down the front of his suit.)

Soon after, the newlyweds called it a night, exiting Foxtail through the front door where they greeted by 30 or so of Pete’s closest paparazzi pals.

UPDATE: Pete Wentz's rep had this to say about the assault claim filed against the Fall Out Boy bassist earlier today in Chicago:

"This case is meritless. We looked into it and the facts don't support his claims. We will vigorously defend this case in court."

Maybe Pete Wentz needs to tone the emo down a notch.

The newly betrothed rocker was sued for assault and battery today by a Chicago man who claims he was beaten up by Wentz and his security team following a Fall Out Boy performance at a Chicago bar last June. (View the lawsuit.)

Andy Kallas claims Wentz and cohorts "without authorization and provocation, by physical force did strike, kick and beat" him for several minutes, leaving him with "serious injuries to his head, mouth and face," per the complaint filed in Cook County Circuit Court.

Speaking exclusively to News, Kallas' attorney says don't be fooled by the rocker's diminutive stature"even small people who get the first blow can still do some damage," said Stephan Zouras.

The lawyer suggested that Ashlee Simpson's fiancé apparently mistook his client for someone else.

"It was a performance by invite only," said Zouras. "Apparently, during the performance, there was a verbal exchange between Mr. Wentz and some other individuals. It would seem that Mr. Wentz mistook my client for the person that was engaging in that exchange.

"Following the performance as he was exiting the premises, he saw my client and decided to have a physical confrontation with him, and he assaulted him. It was initiated by Mr. Wentz, but then apparently members of his entourage became involved, at least three or four individuals.”

Kallas, who's asking for unspecified damages for pain and suffering, medical bills and lost wages, required hospitalization afterward and is still emotionally traumatized, Zouras said.

“All my client wants is for this individual to bear responsibility for his choices,” the attorney added. “We think celebrities should be held to a slightly higher standard.”

The lawsuit states that Wentz's conduct was "deliberate, willful, malicious and calculated to cause serious injury" to Kallas, who is also charging the possibly expectant dad with false imprisonment and negligence. Schuba's Tavern, the club where the alleged altercation took place, is named as a defendant as well.
