Lindsay Lohan’s Grandfather is Battling Cancer
Lindsay Lohan’s Grandfather is Battling Cancer
Looking as cheerful as possible under the circumstances, Lindsay Lohan spent time with recently inseparable pal Samantha Ronson visiting her terminally ill grandfather in Long Island.
According to E! reports, “Michael Lohan called Lindsay last weekend to let her know that her 73-year-old grandfather was struggling with colon cancer that has apparently spread to his lungs.”
“Right now, he’s really been broken down by this disease,” the Lohan family patriarch told E! News.
Meanwhile, more rumors of a possible lesbian relationship between LiLo and her DJ pal Samantha have begun to surface - with Ronson’s older brother offering his sister support.
Mark said: “I am protective over my twin sisters. I have lots of sisters. I have four sisters and five brothers. I am protective over all of them. I love them and of course I care about each one.”
And even though he strongly supports his sister, that doesn’t means that Mark will be helping Lindsay complete her new album.
The 32-year-old producer tells: “Samantha and Lindsay are good friends but I wouldn’t produce her album. I don’t know, I am more interested in working with musicians and groups of singers. Not to take anything away from her. I am sure she will make a good record. But it’s not my thing.”
Lohans Resume Legal Drama
The battling Lohans have going a-courting again.
After complaining that Dina Lohan failed to live up to the custody arrangement they hammered out in their divorce settlement last year, Michael Lohan made good on his promise to resume their testy custody fight by forcing a hearing on the issue.
Lindsay Lohan’s estranged parents appeared in a Nassau County, N.Y., courtroom this morning alongside their attorneys to address the family patriarch’s assertion that he hasn’t been getting regular visits with 14-year-old Ali and 11-year-old Cody, purportedly because they’ve been too busy costarring with his ex-wife in E!’s new reality series Living Lohan. (E! Online is a divison of Entertainment Television.)
After holding a closed-door session with the two sides, Family Court Judge Stacey Bennett expressed optimism that the dispute will be resolved.
“I’m encouraged that the parties and counsel are working at ways to repair the relationship between the children and the father,” she said.
Per the custody agreement, Dina received primary physical custody over the two minors who live with her in the Long Island community of Merrick while Michael was granted visitation and took up residence in nearby Southhampton.
Since 21-year-old Lindsay and her 19-year-old brother Michael are now of age, for once they weren’t involved in the elder Lohans’ legal squabbling.
But in an exclusive interview with News, Michael Sr. made clear he wasn’t happy about the current situation.
“She’s missed 19 out of 31 appointments I had with my kids,” he said. “Now, I’m giving her one last chance to let me see them one day a week, on my own, and to go to therapy with them one day a week. If not, we’ll drag this through court again.”
He also accused his former missus of becoming a “diva” ever since she landed her TV deal.
“All I want is for her to live up to what she agree to and stop missing our meetings. When the time comes, she always has an excuse, and I am tired of it. I won’t put up with it any more. My kids haven’t even seen my family in too long.”
It looks like they got their work cut out for them. But there are signs of progress.
For one, outside the Nassau County Family Court building, Michael told reporters that he and Dina would no longer be making public statements about the matter for their children’s sake.
Bennett subsequently scheduled a follow-up hearing for July 14.
Lohans Living in Court
Apparently the only place Michael Lohan can catch kids Ali and Cody these days is while watching E!’s Living Lohan.
Speaking exclusively to News, the family patriarch says he is taking ex-wife Dina to court this week in a sequel to their bitter custody battle.
“I didn’t want to do it, but I had to. She left me no choice,” says Michael. “She’s missed 19 out of 31 appointments I had with my kids. Now, I’m giving her one last chance to let me see them one day a week, on my own, and to go to therapy with them one day a week. If not, we’ll drag this through court again.”
Dina’s rep did not immediately respond to calls seeking comment.
Per a custody agreement hammered out last year, Dina has primary physical custody of Ali, 14, and Cody, 11; Michael has visitation rights.
“All I want is for her to live up to what she agreed to and stop missing our meetings. When the time comes, she always has an excuse, and I am tired of it. I won’t put up with it any more. My kids haven’t even seen my family in too long.”
To that end, he has requested a hearing in family court in Long Island and is threatening to ask for a court-ordered drug test for his former missus.
Both of the battling Lohans are expected to be there.
Michael claims that since Dina got her deal with for Living Lohan, “she’s become a diva again.” (E! Online is a division of Entertainment Television.)
“Before the show, she didn’t have anything going, had no money. I paid my kids’ school tuition. And everything was fine, she was cooperating then. Then she got her show and, all over, she blew everything off. I won’t let her do it any more.”
As for family torch-bearer Lindsay, this is one controversy she’s happily not involved in.
Behind Papa Lo’s Blog: "I Don’t Approve"
Michael Lohan won’t be making a cameo on Living Lohan any time soonso what’s the low-down on the OK! blog he’s penning about his ex-wife’s reality series?
“I’m not doing it to slam or hurt anyone,” says Michael, who managed to get several advance copies of the show before it aired. “I just want to be honest. I’m going to call it like I see it. If Dina does the right thing on the show, then we won’t have any problems. But if she wants to play games, then I’ll call it like I see it.”
So is it safe to say the estranged family patriarch isn’t exactly a fan of the show that also features daughter Ali and son Cody?
“I’ve already seen, on the first episode, people around my kids that shouldn’t be and elements I don’t approve of,” Michael tells News. “Let’s just say it’s hard to see a reality show in a house I built, filled with furniture I bought, surrounded by people I don’t approve of.”
