Jennifer Hudson - Spotlight Lyrics
Are you a man who loves
And cherishes
And cares for me?
Is that you? Is that you?
Is that you? yeah…
Are you a guard in a prison
Maximum security?
Is that you? Is that you?
Is that you? yea eh…
Do we stay home all the time
Cuz you want me to yourself?
Is that you? Is that you?
Is that you? yeah…
Or am I locked away
Out of fear that i’d find
Someone else
Is that you? Is that you?
yea eh…
Chorus:
Well, I don’t like
Living under your spotlight
Just because you think
I might find somebody worthy
Oh, I don’t like
Living under your spotlight
Baby, if you treat me right
You won’t have to worry
is this a relationship
Fulfilling your needs
As well as mine
Is that you? Is that you?
Is that you? yeah…
Or is this just my sentence
Am I doing time?
Is that you? Is that you?
Is that you? yeah…
If this is love
Real, real love
Then I’m staying no doubt
Is that you? Is that you?
Is that you? yeah…
But if I’m just a prisoner
Then I’m busting out
Is that you? Is that you?
yeah…
(Chorus)
Oh, you oughta be
Ashamed of yourself
What the hell
Do you think you’re doing?
Loving me, loving me
So wrong
Baby, all I do is try
To show you
That you’re my
One and only guy
No matter
Who may come along
Open your eyes
Cuz baby, I don’t lie
(Chorus 2x)

Gabriella Cilmi - Sweet About Me Lyrics
Verse 1:
Ohh watching me, hanging by a string this time.
Ohh easily, the climax of the perfect lie.
Ohh watching me, hanging by a string this time.
Ohh easily, smile worth a hundred lies.
If there’s lessons to be learned, I’d rather get my jamming words in first so, tell you something that I’ve found, that the worlds a better place when it’s upside down boy.
If there’s lessons to be learned, I’d rather get my jamming words in first so, when your playing with desire, don’t come running to my place when it burns like fire boy.
Chorus:
Sweet about me, nothing sweet about me, Yehh
Sweet about me, nothing sweet about me, Yehh
Sweet about me, nothing sweet about me, Yehh
Sweet about me, nothing sweet about me, Yehh
Verse 2:
Blue, blue, blue, waves they crash as time goes by, so hard to catch. Too, too smooth, ain’t all that, why don’t you ride on my side of the tracks.
(fading out)
Sweet about me, nothing sweet about me, Yehh
Sweet about me, nothing sweet about me, Yehh
Sweet about me, nothing sweet about me, Yehh

Heaven, Heartache and The Power Of Love by Trisha Yearwood, Music Video, Lyrics and Review
The first single also happens to be the first track on the album. “Heaven, Heartache And The Power Of Love” is now a smash hit. The song and the video have made several trips on many of the country charts. This is a fun tune that will appeal to all genres.
Trisha Yearwood - Heaven, Heartache and The Power Of Love Lyrics
They say up in heaven the streets are gold
Once you get past the pearly gates
And the angels are singin’
At the top of a dove white staircase
And I say heartache can burn you down like hell
Leave you beggin’ “Baby, please don’t go”
‘Til you’re scrapin’ rock bottom
And cryin’ in a deep, dark hole
Oh, and love can make you fly like a rocket
Put you on top of the world
I’m talkin’ ’bout
Heaven - it’s where I hope I’m goin’
Heartache - that’s where I’ve been
Heaven, heartache and the power of love
Well the preacher says when your time is up
You take a chariot to the lord
Well I’m hopin’ my chariot’s
A torch red Thunderbird Ford
And my old flame said “I hate to break it to you darlin’”
“I was born the leavin’ kind”
Left me standin’ in the drive
Cryin’ why baby, why baby, why?
Oh, but real love’s got me back in the saddle
Shoutin’ “Amen!” again
That’s what I know about
Heaven - it’s where I hope I’m goin’
Heartache - that’s where I’ve been
Heaven, heartache and the power of love
I’ve gotta keep lovin’ and livin’
And learnin’ and burnin’
Movin’ on down the road
Heaven - it’s where I hope I’m goin’
Heartache - that’s where I’ve been
Heaven, heartache and the power of
Heaven - it’s where I hope I’m goin’
Heartache - that’s where I’ve been
Heaven, heartache and the power of love, uh-huh
Heaven, heartache and the power of love
Heaven, heartache and the power of love
Heaven - where I hope I’m goin’
Heartache - that’s where I’ve been
Heaven - mmhmm
Heartache - oooh
Heaven - that’s where I’m goin’
Heartache - oh, that’s where I’ve been
Heaven - where I hope I’m goin’
Heartache
Trisha Yearwood - Heaven, Heartache and The Power Of Love Album Review from amazon.com
Trisha Yearwood offers up some memorable story songs on this follow-up to 2005’s “Jasper County,” infusing each tale with her pitch-perfect delivery. “Nothin’ ‘Bout Memphis” finds a guilt-ridden woman hiding a past romance from her current lover, while “Dreaming Fields” is an achingly beautiful reminiscence of a 1940’s couple who lose the family farm. But the mood here is not all downbeat. “Nothin’ About You Is Good For Me” is a boisterous rebuke of a low-down lothario, and “Cowboys Are My Weakness” is a loping two-stepper that playfully nods to hubby Garth Brooks.
….
Here is a review by a fan from amazon.comA great collection of barn burning country rock and gorgeous ballads. Trisha ventures outside previous comfort zones with a novelty song (Cowboys Are My Weakness) and a celtic tinged story song (The Dreaming Fields) with great results. What holds the album together are the gorgeous vocals by Trisha- her strongest studio singing yet, and the high quality of the songs- especially the lyrics. A great ALBUM- from start to finish.
Taylor Swift - Our Song Lyrics and Video
Our Song by Taylor Swift, Music Video and Lyrics
“Our Song” is a single by country music artist Taylor Swift. It was released to radio on August 22nd as the third single from her platinum album, Taylor Swift.
Taylor said on her MySpace that it was released because of the large reaction it gets from fans at her shows and online. She also stated it was one of her best selling songs on iTunes.
This song is also notable because it is her first single that is written solely by her and not a co-write.
Taylor Swift - Our Song Lyrics
i was riding shotgun with my hair undone in the front seat of his car,
he’s got a one-hand feel on the steering wheel,
the other on my heart,
i look around, turn the radio down,
he says baby is something wrong?,
i say nothin’ i was just thinkin’ how we don’t have a song,
and he says…
CHORUS:
our song is a slamming screen door,
sneakin’ out late, tapping on your window,
when we’re on the phone and you talk real slow,
cause it’s late and your mama don’t know,
our song is the way you laugh,
the first date, “man, i didn’t kiss her, and i should have”,
and when i got home…before i said amen,
asking god if he could play it again.
i was walking up the front porch steps after everything that day,
had gone all wrong and been trampled on,
and lost and thrown away,
got to the hallway, well on my way to my lovin’ bed,
i almost didn’t notice all the roses,
and the note that said…
CHORUS
i’ve heard every album, listened to the radio,
waited for something to come along,
that was as good as our song…
cause our song is a slamming screen door,
sneaking out late, tapping on his window,
when we’re on the phone and he talks real slow,
cause it’s late and his mama don’t know,
our song is the way he laughs,
the first date “man, i didn’t kiss him, and i should have”,
and when i got home, before i said amen,
asking god if he could play it again.
i was riding shotgun with my hair undone,
in the front seat of his car,
i grabbed a pen and an old napkin,
and i….wrote down our song.

Here is Taylor Swift talking about “Our Song”
I just sat down one day with my guitar and got in a groove, and went with it. I like to write about how music affects people, and this was fun to write because it’s about a couple who DOESN’T have a song. I like the banjo and you really can’t go wrong with banjo. I wanted it to be last on the album, because the last line of the chorus is `play it again’. Let’s hope people take it as a hint to go ahead and play the album again. Haha!”
Taylor Swift - Our Song Single Review
Taylor Swift’s first two releases were quite amateurish, and while it’s clear that Taylor isn’t going to deviate from the theme of teenage love anytime soon, this single is certainly her best to date.
I thought I’d clicked the wrong link when things kicked off with fiddle and banjo. The melody is pleasant and Taylor’s descriptions of the everyday sounds that constitute our song have a down-home appeal if one ignores the thinly-veiled references to adolescent dating. I couldn’t help but smile when Taylor wrapped up the chorus by revealing that she’s been asking God if we can play it again.
Still, things aren’t perfect. This song’s theme is more universal than anything that Taylor has released to date, but it’s still difficult for those removed from teenage angst to relate. An ear-splitting vocal mistake in the final rendition of the chorus drags the song down closer to talent-show fare. Nonetheless, the fact that I liked it despite my prejudices says a lot about its quality.
