Rumer Willis vs. the Bloggers

Rumer Willis, Perez Hilton

Bruce Willis isn’t the only tough guy in the family. His daughter Rumer can take on mean bloggers with the same ferocity her dad disposes of, like, terrorists or whatever.

“Everybody has an opinion, and we live in America so you’re allowed to,” blog-fodder Willis told News, at a press conference for her new film The House Bunny.

So what’s her secret weapon against nasties like Perez Hilton, who write about what plastic surgery she should have?

Her own self-esteem.

“As long as you are comfortable with who, you know, you really are,” she said, “and your friends and the people that are around you know that, that’s all that really matters.”

Awww. That also just so happens to be the moral of House Bunny, about a former Playmate who gives a geek sorority hot makeovers.

“Hopefully, young girls will watch this and feel confident about themselves and go, ’OK, that girl’s not entirely the ideal of what a perfect picture is supposed to be and she feels confident and beautiful, then I can too,’ ” she said. “If we can have the ability to do that, I’m very excited about that.”

Blog about that, haters.

Shia LaBeouf: Hard at Work on “Transformers” Sequel

Shia LaBeouf: Hard at Work on “Transformers” Sequel

Getting an early start to the day, Shia LaBeouf was hard at work on the set of “Transformers 2″, which is currently shooting on the campus of Princeton University.

In the scene being shot, the 22-year-old NYC native’s character of Sam Witwicky fumbled around with some school books while chatting on the phone.

In related news, Shia currently finds himself in the gossip fodder for a report claiming that he “received a stern warning for lighting up at a Washington, D.C. museum” just months after having an unlawful smoking charge dismissed in Burbank, California.

Tabloid insiders tell: “LaBeouf was at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C., filming “Transformers 2″, when he lit up a cigarette in the bathroom. He was reprimanded by officials at the museum for the incident - being told that he could be kicked off the property if he lit up again.”

Rumor Patrol: Rashida Jones in Office Spinoff?

Rashida Jones, The Office

Consider this only a rumor for the time being. However, word has been rippling through the TV biz today that Rashida Jones (aka Karen Filippelli, presently of Utica, New York) may star in the upcoming NBC spinoff of The Office.

Sounds pretty amazing to this Office (and Rashida) fan, so I did a little digging, and here’s where this stands: While one inside source (who has always been reliable) says “it’s true” that Rashida will be a part of the new series, another source inside Rashida’s camp says,  “As far as I know, she has not been approached.” Hmmm…

Meanwhile, a rep for Universal (which produces The Office) tells me: “Universal Media Studios has a talent holding deal with Rashida. It is premature to speculate about any potential projects she could be involved with.”

So where does that leave us? Right back where we started, with this being—so far—just a fascinating, plausible and wholly unconfirmed rumor. (Hmph.) Still, I know many of you fellow fans are jonesing for a little Office fodder right about now, so I thought I’d share.

And since you asked (What? You didn’t?), I’m definitely rooting for Rashida/Karen to join in on the spinoff fun. And if we can have Phyllis drop by for a makeover from time to time? Well, it’d be so good it almost hurts.

(That’s what she said.)

What say you?

Britney Spears: Bad Driver?

Britney Spears: Bad Driver?

With the help of the local sheriff’s office to escort her to her brand new Mercedes, Britney Spears was spotted shopping with Sam Lufti at popular baby shop Bel Bambini, on Robertson Boulevard in Los Angeles on Friday.

With all the vehicular complications the “Gimme More” singer has dealt with in the past few months, you’d think she would try to obey the traffic laws, especially when Jayden James and Sean Preston are in the car. But instead, on Thursday night she ran a red light on camera, giving K-Fed’s lawyers more fodder for their custody battle.

Mark Vincent Kaplan (K-Fed’s lawyer) pled with the judge not to allow Britney to drive her kids around anymore.  “We’re asking that she personally shouldn’t be the driver of the children,” he declared in their court hearing earlier this week.

Unfortunately, the issue of Britney’s fitness to drive her boys herself won’t be discussed until a hearing scheduled for November 26th.  Until then, it’s open season on Los Angeles’ traffic laws.
