Kate Hudson: Shopping with Lance’s Daughter
Following a Fourth of July outing at Courteney Cox’s house the previous day, Kate Hudson and Lance Armstrong were side-by-side once again on Saturday (July 5) - shopping at Bentons Sporting Goods store in Santa Monica.
The Fool’s Gold actress and her bicyclist beau took his 6-year-old daughter Isabelle with them on their weekend excursion - with Armstrong’s daughter holding hands with Hudson upon leaving the store.
Meanwhile, Kate isn’t letting her newfound love slow her down career-wise, as it was just announced that she’s lining up yet another role alongside Matthew McConaughey in a remake of Foul Play.
Of the film, which starred Hudson’s mother Goldie Hawn in the original 1978 version, Kate confirmed that negotiations have started but added that “we don’t even have a writer yet.”
Coldplay Accused of Foul Play
Did Chris Martin & Co. swipe the melody for “Viva la Vida,” the group’s new song on those iTunes commercials?
The Brooklyn band Creaky Boards seems to think they did. And the tune in question?
It’s called, “The Songs I Didn’t Write.”
Oh, the irony…
Creaky Boards singer Andrew Hoepfner posted a YouTube video that combines both “Viva la Vida” and “The Songs I Didn’t Write” with text in which he claims he and his band thought they saw Martin in the audience when the Creaky Boards played the CMJ festival in October 2007.
“We were flattered when we thought we spotted Chris Martin in the crowd that night. He seemed pretty into it!…Maybe TOO into it,” writes Hoepfner.
A rep for Coldplay denied the accusations, telling the Guardian that Coldplay cut a demo for “Viva la Vida” in March 2007 and that Martin couldn’t possibly have been at the CMJ show because he was in London recording.
In an email to News, Hoepfner elaborates.
“Soon after the video blew up, I received a call from Coldplay’s manager. They were really nice about the whole thing and explained about their whereabouts and old demos. I guess the song similarities are just a coincidence…great minds think alike?
“Anyway, I must have been mistaken about seeing Chris at the show because all British people look the same. I lived in London for six weeks and I seriously thought every third person on the corner was Coldplay.”
Give it a listen and decide for yourself.
Coroner: Levert Died of Natural Causes
The unexpected passing of Sean Levert earlier this year may not have been fair, but it was natural.
An Ohio coroner has announced that the R&B singer, who died March 31, barely one week into a one-year, 10-day jail sentence for failure to pay child support, succumbed to natural causes.
Cleveland County Coroner Frank Miller said the 39-year-old entertainer died from complications of sarcoidosis, an inflammatory lung disease, and that he also suffered from several other naturally occurring conditions at the time of death, including cardiovascular disease and withdrawal from alprazolam, an antianxiety drug.
Before his death, jail guards at Cuyahoga County described the singer as acting strangely and restrained him in his cell before noticing his breathing turn shallow. He was quickly taken to Cleveland’s Lutheran Hospital. Despite his incarceration, foul play and trauma were quickly ruled out.
Levertthe son of O’Jays singer Eddie Levert, brother of the late Gerald Levert and member of the ’80s R&B trio Levertwas in jail after pleading guilty in March to six counts of failure to pay nearly $90,000 in child support for his three surviving children, ages 11, 15 and 17.
New Pathology Teaser Trailer

At last year’s Comic-Con, Crank writer/directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor brought a group of us into a room and showed us the trailer for Pathology. Mark and Brian, who wrote but didn’t direct Pathology, came up to me after and wanted to know what I thought. Brian insisted that he didn’t want to hear any sugar-coated bull-shit, and wanted my real opinion - good or bad. I thought for a second before responding, “That was really F*cked up,” just like the guy said in this teaser. And with that they laughed.
Pathology has since been delayed at least a couple times, finally landing with an April 18th release date. To celebrate the new date, the boys have released a new teaser trailer which gives you a good sense of the very dark sense of humor contained in this film.
Some say that Pathology is a window to God. As doctors, they see the perversion and corruption of the flesh by all means unnatural…by violence…by toxin…by madness…to determine the cause of death. As a result they are the experts in all signs of foul play and the best in the field can uncover all means of killing, even those that are seemingly undetectable.
When med school student Ted Gray (Milo Ventimiglia) graduates top of his class he joins one of the nation’s most prestigious Pathology programs. With talent and determination Ted is quickly noticed by the program’s privileged and elite band of pathology interns who invite him into their crowd. Intrigued by his new friends he begins to uncover secrets he never expected and finds that he has unknowingly become a pawn in their dangerous and secret after-hours game at the morgue of who can commit the perfect undetectable murder. As Ted becomes seduced into their wild extracurricular activities the danger becomes real and he must stay one step ahead of the game before he is the next victim.
