Pirates of the Caribbean 4 Might be a Spin-Off

Update [6/20/07]: Pirates of the Caribbean 4 to Follow Captain Jack’s Search For Atlantis?

Pirates of the Caribbean 4 is inevitable. The question is how soon, and who will be involved. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer told The Herald Sun that a fourth Pirates film might be a spin-off.

“This is the end [of the current trilogy], but whether one of the characters or a couple of the characters continue on, it’s a possibility. Certainly, in a moment at the end of the film there is a hope that something else might happen.”

But does anyone want to watch a Pirates of the Caribbean film without Johnny? And would anyone really be interested in watching a movie which follows Will Turner or Elizabeth Swann? Fear not, I’ve heard recently that Johnny Depp is interested in doing a sequel. So this might just be a false alarm.

Carol Alt Biography

Carol Alt.jpg

She’s been named “The Most Beautiful Woman in the World” by Playboy and dubbed the “Next Million Dollar Face” by Life Magazine and graced up to 800 magazine covers, but Carol Alt’s most personal project to date is her life changing diet.

Alt is the poster child for the famous line - you are what you eat. You see, Carol is a raw foodist. And no, it’s not just eating salads or being a vegetarian, not in the slightest. She can eat anything, yes, even meat (raw) and as much as she wants and she’s never hungry…ever or rarely gets sick. She’s getting the benefits you wouldn’t believe because her food doesn’t lose the nutritional value (those all-important enzymes) that are lost through cooking that can make you look your best.

In the hopes of looking as good as Alt, we’ll forego cooked food any day.. and keep her new book Eating in the Raw: A Beginner’s Guide to Getting Slimmer, Feeling Healthier, and Looking Younger the Raw-Food Way kitchen-side.

Carol Alt is the epitomy of defying age. She looks better in her 40’s than most 20 year olds. And, it has nothing to do with hours upon hours in a gym or plastic surgery….It’s all in what she eats and it shows. We’ve caught up with her to talk about her style and how raw food changed her life (her very own fountain of youth)

A leggy brunette supermodel, Carol Alt was also a “Cover Girl” makeup representative. Born in Queens and raised on Long Island, she began her modeling career at age 16 and has been seen on more than 600 magazine covers. Alt perhaps is best known for her 1982 Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover. Since the late 1980s, she has appeared in numerous Italian-made films and TV programs. In the USA, Alt is perhaps best-known for her starring role opposite Eric Roberts in the syndicated “Vendetta: Secrets of a Mafia Bride” (1991) and its 1993 sequel “Vendetta II: The New Mafia”. She also co-starred in the short-lived adventure series “Thunder in Paradise” (syndicated, 1994). More recently, Alt appeared in “Private Parts” (1997) as an airline passenger to whom Howard Stern recounts his life story and had the lead in the syndicated series “Peter Benchley’s Amazon” (1999-2000).

Gore Verbinski Talks ‘At Worlds End’ Problems and Pirates 4!

Pirates At Worlds End

Just yesterday we talked about the possibility of a fourth Pirates film and the possible storyline. Now we have word from the director himself, Gore Verbinski.

Holding court as the keynote speaker at the video game-centric DICE Summit in Las Vegas, the director told the audience that his biggest problem with “At World’s End” was that it had just too many darn characters.

If Gore does end up directing the next pirates film, then that problem will probably not resurface. Will and Elizabeth will probably not return as we said yesterday, and the movie will focus on Jack Sparrow and Barbossa searching for the ‘Fountain Of Youth’. But Gore apparently hasn’t heard anything.

“Show me the script,” he said. “I look forward to reading the script for ‘Pirates 4.’”

Verbinski knows, of course, that because of the ongoing writers strike, such a task would be impossible. But, then, past “Pirates” movies have already been green-lit, and even given a concrete release date, without a final screenplay.

Try it again and you’ll lose Verbinski, the director insisted.

“The process of having release dates and no script is not something I’m dying to go through again. I would have to pull the gun out of my mouth [first],” he said. “The reason I did 2 and 3, honestly, was because I still thought there was something to do there. I don’t want to be involved in, you know, ‘Rocky 9.’ ”

Pirates Of The Caribbean 4 Rumblings

I can remember reading something similar to this before, but I will talk about it anyway as it has come from the Disney know it all, Jim Hill

Now given that Bruckheimer & Disney do eventually hope to put a “Pirates 4″ into production (A film that — I hear — would toss the Elizabeth & Will characters over the side in favor of doing a bawdy buddy picture which would star Jack Sparrow & Barbossa. Where both captains of the Black Pearl would initially be competing for the exact same prize. But eventually all the double crossing would have to stop as these two rivals were then forced to join forces in order to defeat some supernatural terror)

This seems the logical way to go as Keira Knightly has said she was done with the pirate world, Orlando Bloom seems to have taken a break from big budget movies by doing some stage work and a few people complained about the love story in the third film. So maybe a film filled with fun pirate action will be a breathe of fresh, or should I say sea, air.

Jack Sparrow and Barbossa

While watching At Worlds End I grew to like Barbossa more and more. I hadn’t seen Geoffrey Rush in anything before the first Pirate movie, so I didn’t see him as an actor, I saw him as Barbossa. He was great in the role and to see him on screen again would be treat. Johnny Depp performs as always and is the natural entertainer, putting a possible fourth movie in the ‘eagerly awaiting’ category. Of course practically nothing is official or confirmed as of yet, only ideas being thrown around. The end of the last movie saw Jack Sparrow on the search for the Fountain Of Youth, which could be a rather cool storyline. However, apparently the third National Treasure movie may focus on the same topic, which is rather weird. Although the writers of Book Of Secrets just happen to have written the Pirates trilogy, so we can conclude that Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio have a fetish for fountains.

What are your thoughts on a possibly fourth outing?
