Gossip Girl Caught in the Act: Reality or Fiction?
Gossip Girl Caught in the Act: Reality or Fiction?
With a fresh cast and intense storyline, it’s no surprise that the new CW show Gossip Girl has drawn both praise and criticism as it focuses on a darker side of life for the super rich in NY. Intended to fill the audience gap created with the loss of Veronica Mars, Gossip Girl has done a good job of capturing its young audience’s interest with stories of sex, drugs, and pretty much everything else you can think of.
In a recent appearance on The View, co-star Blake Lively defended the show from critics who claimed the series is nothing more than a string of improbable situations stacked on top of each other. According to Blake, the show leverages what she termed a sense of “heightened reality” in order to connect with its audience.
“I think a lot of the realism is lost in the sparkle, and it’s meant to. You need that for the entertainment and the grit… But this stuff does happen and it’s good that we get to address these issues. It does open the door for conversations for parents to have with their children,” Blake tells.
However, this “heightened reality” seems to have caused some memory issues, as fellow co-star Leighton Meester was recently caught by Radar Online smoking weed with friends at NYC’s Goldbar. While this situation could be pulled right out of the show’s script, it appears someone forgot to tell Leighton to turn off her “heightened reality” when she leaves the set.
Be sure to tune in tonight for an all new episode of Gossip Girl - when Serena finds out her mother Lily is back with Jake’s father Bart.
Jennifer Aniston Rumors Keep Rolling
Jennifer Aniston Rumors Keep Rolling
Wearing a cute blue tanktop, Jennifer Aniston stepped back onto the Miami, Florida set of her new movie “Marley & Me” on Tuesday (March 18).
And ever since the former Friends actress hit the sunshine state, rumors ranging from a blooming relationship with co-star Owen Wilson to adoption plans have suddenly sprung forth.
As for the relationship speculation, an insider told press: “Jennifer and Owen totally connected (on set). So when the works done and they head off the set holding hands, it’s not hard to imagine what people are whispering. They openly flirt on set, then hand out and even disappear together when they wrap up for the day.”
And the adoption talk, well it all began when Jen reportedly purchased several items at Baby Gap in Miami, with sources saying that “Aniston’s friend Sheryl Crowe inspired the actress to adopt after she adopted a son in 2007.”
As for the validity of either claim, we’re guessing slim to none. But it’s Hollywood, so one can never be sure.
Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher: Completely In Love
Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher: Completely In Love
Doing their best to stay incognito while heading out to an awaiting limousine, Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore were spotted post-landing at LAX airport in Los Angeles, California on Thursday (May 29).
The 45-year-old Ghost actress appeared quite casual with her hair down and strange tattoo-like markings on both wrists. Ashton, meanwhile, looked a bit unkempt in a tan jacket with a Red Sox cap.
Kutcher, who’s 15 years younger than Moore, recently spoke with Britain’s Daily Mail - saying “marrying Demi and becoming a stepfather to her three daughters has made him happier than he could ever have imagined.”
He tells: “Demi has made me complete. And the girls are the icing on the cake that is my life. The love they give me is open and unconditional and everything I do revolves around making them as happy as they have made me.”
Addressing the age gap between himself and Moore, Ashton explains: “My whole life, I’ve always been around older people. My friends were always a little bit older and when I was young, I spent a lot of time with my mom and her friends. I mean, I feel so darn grown up now I’m 30, even though the number is inconsequential. It should be all about where you are in life and how much responsibility you’ve taken on, not how old you are. For me, turning 30 was just an excuse to throw a party.”
Christopher Lee Would Return As Saruman For The Hobbit

He may be 86 years old but he still has six movies on the way and could be adding another one (or two). Christopher Lee spoke to Empire about Saruman returning for The Hobbit prequels. Although Saruman doesnt appear in the book, there is the second film which Del Toro and Jackson will be writing to bridge the gap between The Hobbit and the first Lord of the Rings movie.
“I’ve read the books time and again,” said the 86-year-old. “Originally Saruman The White and the rest of the wizards, or the Istari as they call them, were immortal. There were five of them, two of them never appear, I know their names but they never appear, and the only three that are mentioned are Saruman The White, Gandalf The Grey and Radagast The Brown who you never see – so basically it’s two wizards.
“They lived for thousands of years and they were sent to the earth and they are virtually immortal. When it all started, Saruman was the noblest, the finest, the bravest, the most dependable and reliable of them all, he was number one. But somewhere, somehow, and it was never actually explained, he turns and it’s probably the Palantír (the wizard’s crystal ball thingy) that makes Saruman realise that if Sauron can do this, why can’t I do it and Saruman wants to become The Lord Of The Rings himself.”
“I’d be interested in seeing how that transition from good to evil occurred and, yes, of course I would return to the role if I was asked.”
You can tell Lee has read the trilogy every year for the past five decades can’t you?
I suppose it would be quite cool to see Saruman’s decent into darkness. What do you think?
