Big Bang Theory: Where to find Sheldon’s shirts

Sheldon on The Big Bang TheoryIf you’re a fan of The Big Bang Theory, you’ve probably wondered at some point where they get all the fun nerdy t-shirts that the character of Sheldon wears on the show. Well, I’m sure most of you, being internet-savvy and resourceful, have probably Googled each and every shirt and already have a spreadsheet up on Google Docs that is cross-referenced by episode and topic. But what about the lazy among us, who’d rather eat glass than stare at a spreadsheet all day?

SheldonShirts.com comes to the rescue. It shows screen shots of every shirt Sheldon wears in each episode and where you can get that particular shirt. It also shows where you can get the shirts that the other main character, Leonard, wears, as well as the the belt buckles worn by their perverted buddy Howard. They also make some suggestions for shirts the nerd heroes should wear in the future, as well as provide links to some other stuff that was shown on the program. It’s a good way to waste a couple of hours, whether you’re a nerd, a geek, or neither. It’s especially good for those who are need to find their favorite geek or nerd a birthday present. To those people, you’re welcome in advance.

American Idol premiere to feature Philadelphia and Dallas auditions

american idolJust to prove that no news is too small when it comes to their ratings juggernaut American Idol, FOX has announced that the two-night four-hour season premiere (EXTRAVAGANZA!) of Idol will feature the auditions from Philadelphia (Tuesday 1/15 8pm/7 Central) and Dallas (Wednesday 1/16 8pm/7 Central). That’s it. They’ll tell us later what nights to tune in for the auditions in San Diego, Omaha, Atlanta, Charleston and Miami.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m as big an Idol geek as the next guy, assuming he’s a big Idol geek, but, really? This is your Idol announcement? My favorite part is how they tease us about the other cities. We could tell you now which episodes are which cities but we won’t. Maybe they’ll tell us … “after the break.” Ryan? Anyone? If I don’t know what night Omaha is airing right now, I’m going to boycott the whole season!

The Superhero Movie Trailer

The Superhero Movie

I’m not one to get excited about spoof movies. The original Scary Movie is probably the last good one. When Dimension announced that they were going to spoof the superhero film genre, I actually got excited. There in lies the potential for a great geek film. But I was brought back down to earth when I saw the film’s trailer, thanks to SHH. Instead of spoofing the entire superhero genre, it appears they went after the first Spider-Man film. t doesn’t look as bad as Meet The Spartans, likely because it’s not a mess of pop-culture references which have nothing to do with the film’s main theme (really, what did Megatron have to do with the Swords and Sandals genre?). I find myself watching this trailer and thinking to myself “It’s not horrible…” I’m not saying it looks good… Watch the trailer for The Superhero Movie.

Release Date Change: AVP2 to challenge Cloverfield

Alien vs. Predator: Requiem

Update: I just heard back from Fox. Apparently the release change will only effect the international release of the film. AvsP2 will still hit theaters in the United States on December 25th 2007.

Don’t get too excited for that red band trailer for Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem, because the film has just been bumped back to January 18th, 2008. That’s right, you’re going to have to wait a few weeks longer for the AvsP fix. The sequel was originaly slated to hit theaters on December 25th, up against Charlie Wilson’s War, The Great Debators and The Water Horse, but more importantly Sweeney Todd, National Treasure 2 and Walk Hard, all of which open the previous Friday (December 21st). So you can see why they made the move.

But pitting AvsP2 up against the much hyped JJ Abrams produced top secret monster flick Cloverfield, doesn’t seem like the best idea for everyone involved. And besides, isn’t Fanboys coming out the same weekend too? Three geek targeted flicks in one weekend feels a little bit overcrowded to me.
