Coolness: Etch-a-Sketch Movie Drawings

I stumbled across these while browsing the internet. Some genius has drawn characters and scenes from movies on an Etch-a-Sketch. He has done around 329 drawings, and you can see some of them below.

300 Prequel/Sequel Moving Forward

Earlier today, Peter reported on the race to the screen between two new Greek mythology epics inspired by 300. The flip side of this news is that both director Zack Snyder and 300 producers, Mark Canton and Gianni Nunnari (who are also producing one the aforementioned epics) confirmed to Collider at the Saturn Awards that a 300 sequel/prequel is finally bubbling.

“We’re working on sequel of 300, the prequel of 300,” said Nunnari. Canton chimed in with, “We’re looking to do another 300 and we’re looking for Frank Miller and Zack to do their thing. …Because we’ve had obviously around the world quite seriously such an amazing journey. It keeps on going. We’re talking about the genius of Frank Miller and Zack Snyder.”

In a separate interview, Snyder confirmed that if “something is cool” they’ll do it (isn’t this Hollywood’s MO right now?)…

“Yeah, I’ve talked to Frank a little bit about it, and he’s going to do something, I think he’s going to draw something. We’ll see what he does. If something’s cool we’ll make a movie out of it,” said Snyder.

There you have it! He’s going to draw something. For over a year, news about a follow-up to the game-changing green screen money maker has floated about the Net. Back in March ‘07, Miller was said to be prepping one, even. As for a storyline, nothing was offered up in these interviews. Previously some readers suggested that “a sequel could be made using 10,000: The Battle of Plataea or the naval Battle of Salamis.” Of note: Snyder is interested in returning, whereas some speculated that Miller—with The Spirit already campaigning hard in Geek Land—would helm.

Up next for Snyder after Watchmen is the animated owl fantasy, Guardians of Ga’Hoole. He also has The Tattooed Man on the burner. He is also quite flabbergasted that some people don’t “get” the commentary that is nippled regalia in Watchmen.

Resurrected Discuss: Uh oh. Some commenters below still feel with a certain passion that 300 was not “historically accurate.”

Angelina Jolie Talks Sin City 2

Angelina Jolie took time off from being pregnant and did the promotion rounds for Wanted. While doing these rounds MTV asked Jolie about Sin City 2. Back in 2006, Rosario Dawson said that Robert Rodriguez was putting the whole thing on hold due to Jolie’s pregnancy. Well time has pasted, Jolie gave birth…then got pregnant again with twins…and will give birth again at some point I presume. So maybe if she’s done adding to the ever growing human population could she take on the role of Ava Lord in Sin City 2?

“I don’t know,” the actress admitted, “I found the first ‘Sin City’ impressive, but I don’t know what they’re going to do with the next one to make [it] as original as the first one,” Jolie said.

But if there’s any trepidation at all on Jolie’s part as to whether or not Miller and Co. can keep the story fresh and invigorating, it’s not for lack of respect.

“I think he’s a genius,” Jolie said of Miller, who masterminded the original graphic novel and co-directed the first film. “I’d be curious [if offered].”

Rachel Weisz was rumoured to be up for the part a while back, so if big lips here doesn’t do it, Weisz might.

Sir Ben Kingsley Raves About Mary-Kate Olsen

Sir Ben Kingsley Raves About Mary-Kate Olsen

You’ve been falling in love with her (and her sister) since their debut in the 1990s on “Full House.” But actor Sir Ben Kingsley reports that Mary-Kate Olsen is still as charming as ever.

The British actor/icon recently revealed to press that he is an ardent admirer of Olsen, with whom he co-starred in “The Wackness.”

In an interview, Kingsley gushed, “Mary-Kate is a genius. She’s great company and a very good actor indeed.”

And he knows his stuff.  The 63-year-old actor has been a permanent resident on Hollywood’s A-list ever since his breakthrough role in “Ghandi” as the title character.  He’s set to begin working on “Taj Mahal” soon, opposite Indian actress Aishwarya Rai.
