Serena & Common’s Love Match in London?
Tennis may not have been the only thing on Serena Williams’ mind at Wimbledon.
Her maybe-boyfriend Common was in London in the days leading up to the match against her sister, Venus, according to a source.
“Common flew over to London to hang with Serena,” the source reports. “He was running around with the Williams entourage.”
I’m told Serena rented a house in the London-area, while the Wanted star had a room at a hotel.
The two were spotted leaving a group dinner together on Thursday night. Common apparently left the next morning for a concert gig in Germany.
Common’s rep said, “I know he’s over there for some tour dates, so he could have gone to Wimbledon.” Williams’ rep did not comment.
Reports of a possible romance first surfaced late last year, but the two have never confirmed anything. “I think he’s a great guy,” Serena told Ebony magazine earlier this summer. “He’s obviously a great artist who is timeless and classic. You can’t beat that. But I have to focus on tennis, because that’s my goal in life.”
Tinseltown’s European Vacation
As our country takes time out todayin between scarfing down hot dogs and dips in the poolto remember its independence from England, we thought we’d take a look at some of the celebrities who have been spending their free time overseas.
Un-American, you say? Au contraire! When it comes to representing the red, white and blue, famous folks are often the perfect ambassadors…
Take David Hasselhoff, who was (literally) hanging around Big Ben recently. The guy is like a walking billboard for the 50 states. He’s the former star of Baywatch, which used to be one of our biggest exports; he’s a judge on America’s (hello!) Got Talent; and, oh yeah, did we mention he’s huuuge in Germany?
Of course, the Hoff’s not the only one representin’, as evidenced by our European Vacation gallery!
Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem Celebrate Cup Win
Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem Celebrate Cup Win
Sure, she’s an international sex symbol and top Hollywood actress, but that doesn’t mean Penelope Cruz doesn’t enjoy a raucous game of soccer!
The “Vanilla Sky” actress and her actor boyfriend Javier Bardem were spotted in Madrid, Spain over the weekend showing their support for the Spanish national soccer team.
And wouldn’t you know it? Spain won the 2008 European Championship Final 1-0 over Germany. It looks like having a little celebrity boost was just what they needed.
After the game, Cruz and Bardem went to a local bar to celebrate, with Javier even going so far as to paint his face with Spain’s official team colors.
Jonas Brothers Rock Germany
Jonas Brothers Rock Germany
They’ve successfully won the hearts of ladies all over the US and UK and now it seems the Jonas Brothers have their sights set on the rest of Western Europe.
Kevin, Joe, and Nick brought their brotherly brand of rock to VIVA TV’s floating stage on the river Spree yesterday in the German capital city of Berlin.
And from all accounts, the Jonas Brothers are the biggest American act to hit Germany since David Hasselhoff, reportedly drawing quite a crowd of young screaming female fans.
Later today (June 26) the JB’s latest single “Burnin’ Up” is slated to debut on MTV’s Total Request Live at 3pm. The “Camp Rock” soundtrack debuted at #3 with 188,000 copies already sold.
