Favreau Totally Blogs, Questions Iron Man II Date

Iron Man

So this is how it works in Hollywood, now? You direct a huge summer blockbuster, you get a greenlight on your sequel and then have to bitch about your bosses…on your MySpace page?

Iron Man director Jon Favreau has been deftly fielding fanboy questions on a MySpace forum this week and has also lobbed open complaints about the ambitious schedule laid out by Marvel execs. The April 2010 release date for Iron Man II doesn’t sit well with him, and here’s what he said:

“Neither Robert [Downey Jr.] nor I were consulted about this and we are both concerned about how realistic the date is,” he writes. “We owe it to the fans to have a great version of IM2 and, at this point, we would have less time to make it than the first one.”

See, after Iron Man’s huge debut this summer, Marvel announced a jam-packed lineup assembling the classic Avengers superhero team, including Thor (2010), Iron Man II (2010), Captain America (2011) and The Avengers (2011). Favreau says he’s keen on directing The Avengers, too, and feels he won’t have time. “It’s been five weeks,” he writes, “since the one and only phone call my reps have gotten from Marvel.”

So how will Marvel execs respond? We’re keeping on eye on their Facebook wall to find out…

Introducing Hunter Stephenson

When I first started, I intended the site to be a forum for film geeks to blog about film. We launched with 20 part-time writers. But that time has long past. Aside from our Box Office Guru Steve Mason and and occasional review or list, is virtually a one man show. I’ve been writing and editing 99% of the content you read on this site.

Last year when I traveled to Park City to cover the 2007 Sundance Film Festival, I received a few complaints about the sudden lack of mainstream coverage. Truth is, when you’re seeing four movies and writing four reviews a day, it’s hard to keep up on sleep, never-mind news (or even movie news). I’ve heard it refereed to as “The Sundance Bubble” by other critics and festival-goers. Last year our readership was much smaller than it is today. Thanks to you guys, we’re now one of the biggest movie news websites around.

And I don’t want to let you down, so I’m bringing in some extra help for some of the day to day news. Don’t worry, I’m not going away, and will not be taking a back seat. I’ll still be front and center. I’m a workaholic, you’re not getting rid of me. But you will be hearing a new voice, and that voice is of Hunter Stephenson. You may have already read a couple his news articles which were published earlier on in the day.

Hunter Stephenson is a graduate of the University of Miami, where he was the entertainment editor of The Miami Hurricane for three years. He once interviewed Ghostface, Lil Wayne, and Larry Flynt in person and was thrown over a sofa by Chloe Sevigny’s brother in the span of two friggin’ weeks. He is currently finishing up his first novel on a grant, and one day hopes to obtain both the lifestyle of Body Bags 2 uber-producer Lee Donowitz and a loyal catch like Bunker Spreckels’. This explains the whole “blogging about film” thing.

He likes Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure and the final trailer for There Will Be Blood. His favorite film of all time is White Men Can’t Jump watched from within Stanley Kubrick’s head.

So watch out for more of Hunter’s postings in the coming days, and please give him a warm welcome!

Amy Winehouse - You Know I’m No Good Video and Lyrics

You Know I’m No Good by Amy Winehouse , Music Video and Lyrics

“You Know I’m No Good” is the second single from Amy Winehouse’s second studio album, Back to Black (2006). The track follows in the footsteps of Winehouse’s previous singles of a mix of jazz and R&B with her soulful, raspy vocals over it. Recorded solo, and then again with guest vocals from Wu Tang Clan member Ghostface Killah, the original appeared on Winehouse’s album, and the version featuring Ghostface Killah appears on his album, More Fish.

The music video was released to music channels in late November 2006. The video features Winehouse in numerous settings including a bar, a bedroom, and a bathtub. The plot is based around Winehouse’s fictional character’s relationship with the male character in the video.

Amy Winehouse You Know I’m No Good Lyrics

Meet you downstairs in the bar and heard
Your rolled up sleeves and your skull t-shirt
You say why did you do it with him today?
And sniffed me out like I was tanqueray

Cause you’re my fella, my guy
Hand me your stella and fly
By the time I’m out the door
You tear me down like roger moore

I cheated myself
Like I knew I would
I told ya, I was trouble
You know that I’m no good

Upstairs in bed, with my ex boy
He’s in a place, but I cant get joy
Thinking of you in the final throws, this is when my buzzer goes

Run out to meet you, chips and pitta
You say when we’re married cause youre not bitter
There’ll be none of him no more

I cried for you on the kitchen floor

I cheated myself
Like I knew I would
I told ya, I was trouble
You know that I’m no good

Sweet reunion, Jamaica and Spain
We’re like how we were again
I’m in the tub you on the seat
Lick your lips as I soap my feet

Then you notice a little carpet burn
My stomach drops and my guts churn
You shrug and it’s the worst
who truly stuck the knife in first

I cheated myself like I knew I would
I told ya I was trouble, you know that I’m no good
I cheated myself, like I knew I would
I told ya I was trouble, yeah ya know that I’m no good
