DKNY Draws Ali Larter, Rashida Jones
DKNY Draws Ali Larter, Rashida Jones
Wednesday night, Donna Karan New York hosted a Midtown Manhattan bash to celebrate the release of their new fragrance “DKNY Delicious Night.” And Ali Larter and Rashida Jones were among the Hollywood A-listers glamming it up.
With a glass of champagne in hand, the Heroes hottie gushed about her love of the Big Apple. “I’m so excited to be here in the city. I’m here with my girlfriends, and we’re going to have an amazing night. We’re going to have a great dinner at the Waverly (Inn) and drink champagne until dawn.”
When asked about her ideal NYC adventure, she replied, “The exact one I’m describing. That’s what we do. It’s not about dancing in nightclubs. It’s about having a great bottle of wine and great conversation. It’s a sexy city, and I’m excited to be here.”
Of her favorite activity in which to partake, Rashida Jones (currently working on both the Office and Unhitched) said, “Just walk around and make decisions as I’m walking of what to do. You can’t do that in L.A. People stare at you like you’re crazy. People don’t really walk. You sit on your (bottom) in the car all day long. It’s insane.”
Both Larter and Jones may be sitting on their collective bottom for awhile, along with the rest of those affected by the writer’s strike in the entertainment industry.
Ali told press, “It’s a very precarious time in Los Angeles. We can only shoot for a couple more days. It’s affected everyone, from our writers to our production assistants to craft service. You have to stand up for what you believe in, but the repercussions are — it’s just a difficult time for everyone.”
And Jones, whose new show doesn’t start filming until 2008, said that it’s tragic, even though it hasn’t put her out yet. “It’s affected so many of my friends. It’s only a couple of days in, and it’s a bummer. These people work so hard, and they’re the glue of the industry. They’re the reason the industry ticks, and to not give them the modicum of respect they deserve — it bums me out. I hope everyone comes to their senses.”
Demi and Ashton Have Rough Times, Bruce Finds Love
Demi and Ashton Have Rough Times, Bruce Finds Love
Marriage for the average person is tough. Over half of marriages are doomed to fail. And that’s not even with constant media scrutiny and paparazzi hounding you that celebrity marriages endure. For Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore, it looks as though the tough times could be just beginning.
Ashton would really like to have a child with Moore. Moore has already mothered three children with former hubby Bruce Willis, so it’s not clear that she will do so again with Kutcher. “Ashton desperately wants a baby but is having to cope with the possibility that Demi may never bear his child.” Demi has been making a number of sacrifices and lifestyle changes to enhance her chances of conceiving - and is reportedly expecting Ashton to do the same.
A source told Star magazine: “Demi seems very controlling. She likes to tell Ashton what to do, stand here, meet this person, do that. She wears the pants in that relationship.”
The couple attended a party at a producer friend’s Bel Air home in March and Demi was said to be furious when her younger spouse drank alcohol. A witness said, “Ashton accepted a glass of champagne, after Demi refused the offer. She shot Ashton a look that said ‘I’m not drinking, so you shouldn’t either.’”
“Ashton gave her a defiant look that appeared to say he didn’t care, and he took a sip. She doesn’t want him to do anything unhealthy because of their difficulty in trying to have a baby together.”
The father of Demi’s three other children, Bruce Willis, reportedly has his hands full as well these days. The 52-year-old actor is dating 23-year-old Playboy Playmate Tamara Witmer. Witmer, who is only 5 years older than Willis’ daughter Rumer, is excited to be dating the Die Hard stud. “He’s got the sexiest voice!” she says. “He’s so smooth and suave. I don’t mind the bald head. He’s really good looking in person.”
Couples Watch: Charlize & Stuart, Posh & Becks …
• Charlize Theron, getting some fresh air with her
beau Stuart Townsend in Paris. There for the holiday weekend, the
couple also hit the stores. Among their shopping stops: Dior, Lanvin (where Theron shared a glass of champagne with designer Alber Elbaz) and then on to John Galliano to pick out lingerie. The following day, the couple enjoyed a romantic dinner at the Bois de Boulogne’s Pré Catelan restaurant. The couple also took time for a stroll in the Jardin des Plantes’ Natural History Museum followed by a private walk-in at the Da Vinci Code’s Eglise St. Sulpice.
• David Beckham and Victoria Beckham, sharing a double date at STK in Los Angeles with fellow Brit Kate Beckinsale and her husband Len Wiseman. “Posh was giggling and laughing the whole time,” says a fellow diner. Toward the end of their meal, the table got a surprise visitor: David Spade, who chatted with them for a minute.
• Jessica Simpson, stopping by all ten of the big

• Enjoying a dinner with friends, Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz got cuddly before heading upstairs for a drink in the lounge at Foxtail in Los Angeles. Wentz, wearing a dapper grey suit, spent the meal with his arm Simpson, who often whispered and giggled into his ear before kissing Wentz’s cheek. And, later, when they got upstairs, their PDA fest upped a notch as they had a mini-makeout session, with Simpson at one point placing one leg over his.
