Steven Weber is getting Psyched
Shawn Spencer’s family is growing. First, there’s his mother, Madeline, coming to Santa Barbara for a visit, in the personage of Cybill Shepherd. And now comes news that another major television star is coming on board for a guest role. Steven Weber will be appearing in an episode of Psych as Shawn’s Uncle Jack.
Jack is Henry’s brother, although I don’t see a big resemblance between Corbin Bernsen and Steven Weber. However, if the character is more like Shawn, that will give Weber a chance to play it wild and wacky. Maybe he’ll be like his Brian Hackett incarnation on Wings.
According the TV Guide, this Psych episode sounds sort of like a Raiders of the Lost Ark/National Treasure adventure. Uncle Jack comes to town in search of a treasure. He has a map to a hidden Spanish cache of goodies and enlists Shawn and Gus in his search. Now you just know that James Roday will be pulling out a bullwhip and Fedora.
Weber, by the way, is expected back on Brothers and Sisters next season as Sarah’s part-time lover. When the show wrapped, their romance was still humming.

With her mother Gina by her side, Vanessa Hudgens was spotted out to take the written portion of her driver’s license test in Glendale earlier today (November 29).
After grabbing some goodies at the mall, Nessa headed to the DMV, taking her test and posing in front of the blue screen for a license picture. The 18-year-old High School Musical star hopes to have her wheels in time for the holiday season.
Meanwhile, Vanessa recently leaked a little info on the script of the highly anticipated High School Musical 3, which is set to begin filming in February.
“It’s their senior year, so there’s going to be graduation - and prom!” Hudgens tells Us Weekly.

Katie Holmes was spotted out and about, doing a little last minute holiday shopping at Maxfields in West Hollywood on Friday afternoon (December 21).
Wearing a blue skirt and white turtleneck combo, the Batman Begins actress toted her goodies out while flanked by a Presedential-esque security team.
Recently, the 29-year-old spoke to press about life as the wife of Tom Cruise and mother of an infant daughter, saying, “I’m really happy being a mom, being a wife.”
Continuing on, Holmes tells that she understands the curiosity over her life with her Top Gun hubby, but the life experiences trump any intrusiveness that she faces.
“I appreciate the man that I’m with and my family and my work. I feel very lucky to be able to say that. I mean, what we do in a week is extraordinary,” she says.
“I have done things I never thought I would do, like climbing mountains and flying in the P-51 (a second World War fighter),” says Holmes. “That’s what is so inspiring about being with him - constant thrills and joy.”

Dressed in the same top she wore the previous evening while grabbing some Thai cuisine, Britney Spears was once again spotted out on her late night routine on Thursday (December 27).
The troubled pop tart made her way to the usual destinations - the Starbucks on Robertson Blvd and a few gas stations. Britney also sped over to a Virgin megastore, only to head home after finding out that it was closed.
Meanwhile, more details of the Piece Of Me singer’s Christmas with sons Jayden James, 1, and Sean Preston, 2, are coming forth. And, as always, there’s drama involved.
A family insider told Page Six, “Britney would not let her boys open the gifts from her mom and dad. Apparently she hid them, and she told [her ex-husband] Kevin [Federline] she might send them back to her parents un-opened.”
Apparently, K-Fed wasn’t too pleased with Brit’s attitude and let her have it during a phone call on Christmas evening.
“Kevin told her to stop acting like a spoiled brat,” the insider said, adding, “He asked her to give them to him and he would let them open them.”
The source continued, “Britney then bragged a lot about what she bought them [Jayden and Sean] just to piss him off, but Kevin expected her to do that. The kids got lots of toys, including some LeapFrog learning goodies and miniature cars.”
