Jonas Brothers: Hollywood’s New Wave

Jonas Brothers: Hollywood’s New Wave

Their rise to fame has been meteoric and the Jonas Brothers have taken everything in stride.  And yesterday, they were spotted keeping up artist-fan relations.

The paparazzi caught up with Nick, Joe, and Kevin outside of their hotel in Toronto, Canada Monday afternoon, Sharpies in hand, meeting and greeting fans and signing autographs as they posed for pictures.

And according to Vanity Fair magazine, the brothers Jonas are part of a phenomenon being dubbed “Hollywood’s New Wave,” a moniker that finds them in good company.

Also falling into the category are young stars like the cast of the CW mega-hit series Gossip Girl, as well as Julia Roberts’ niece Emma Roberts, Mama Mia’s Amanda Seyfriend, and Panic Room’s Kristen Stewart.

The folks over at Vanity Fair have compiled, yet again, a list of the young stars predicted to rule the entertainment universe in the next few years. No pressure, of course.

Among those caught in the glare of the (hopefully not temporary) spotlight this time around are the following lovely ladies who appear on the cover of the August issue:

Gossip Girl star Blake Lively; Amanda Seyfried and Kristen Stewart, who appear in the upcoming films Mamma Mia! and What Just Happened?, respectively; and Emma Roberts, who toplined the recent Nancy Drew flick but is probably best known for having a certain aunt named Julia.

While the fresh-faced foursome are deserving, we couldn’t help but wonder who you would have liked to have seen on the cover. Let us know!

Want to know more about the cast of Gossip Girl?

Gossip Girls walking on the sand. Vanity Fair has done a piece on Gossip Girl profiling the likes and dislikes of its young Hollywood starlets. Amanda Seyfried, who’s starring in the upcoming film Mamma Mia! with Meryl Streep, wants to work with Michael Caine on day. When asked whether she drove a hybrid or an Escalade, she said, “Audi. Maybe I should drive a hybrid. I do have a shirt that says, ’Go Green.’ ” Well, that helps, I guess.

Blake Lively, who got her start playing Bridget in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, got the car question too: “Hybrid. Even if anybody picked the Escalade they wouldn’t say it, ’cause it’d be, like, bombed.”

VH1.com pointed out that in the article Gossip Girl ripped off a famous Friends photo. The pictures features each cast in evening gowns and tuxes while lugging champagne. Technically, Vanity Fair ripped off Friends. I feel indignant at any comparison, intentional or not, made between Friends (*cue choir of angels*) and Gossip Girl. Check out the pictures and let me know what you think.

Gossip Guy Turns 21 Minus His Costar

Ed Westwick

A little gossip doesn’t bother Ed Westwick.

“I just laugh it off,” he tells People about the rumors that he and his Gossip Girl costar (and roommate) Chace Crawford are more than just friends.

“People who know me and Chace and the cast know that we are all great friends,” Ed tells the mag. “And that’s the extent of it all. Those things that go around are just amusing to us, really.”

But how does Chace feel?

Who knows? He was expected to attend his friend’s celebration but canceled at the last minute.

Still, Ed had plenty of company for his 21st birthday weekend even without his costar. Thirty friends and family members joined him for dinner at Tao. After the meal, he headed to a VIP table at the nightclub upstairs, where he had his first legal drink.

His beverage of choice? Champagne.

Chuck Bass would be proud.
