Eli Roth and The RZA Developing The Man With the Iron Fist

Buried in this Billboard chat with The RZA is the first announcement of a new project he’s working on with horror poster boy and David Copperfield doppleganger Eli Roth…
“RZA has developed a martial arts film with Hollywood pal Eli Roth called The Man with the Iron Fist, which he says has “the blessing” of his ‘teacher,’ Quentin Tarantino…”
These three guys! Let’s hope video from Tarantino’s “blessing” surfaces on the DVD. Common sense would dictate that The Man With the Iron Fist is categorically unrelated to Marvel’s kung-fu fighting character of the same name. Roth is a longtime fan of chopsockey; maybe he’ll cast friend Matthew Helms, a 19-year-old martial artist and actor who played the lovely “Pan Cake Dennis” in his Cabin Fever? Here’s the ridic clip.
We reported previously that RZA has completed a collaboration with Hans Zimmer on the score to Babylon A.D. And for the Wu-literate, RZA says that he may finally, finally get around to editing and releasing his Bobby Digital blaxploitation movie, which focuses on the “science lab origins” of his neoghetto alter-ego, a violent playboy who wears a $1 party mask, drives ‘rraris and makes no sense.

The RZA, Hans Zimmer Teamed Up to Score Vin Diesel’s Babylon A.D.

One is the feted composer of films like True Romance and The Dark Knight, the other is the leader of the Wu-Tang Clan and a killer composer in his own right (Ghost Dog, Kill Bill). What do they both have in common? They both made appearances on the latest Slashfilm Muxtape! And in yet another example of the Effect, Zimmer and the RZA have combined their magic to score Vin Diesel’s Babylon A.D., the sci-fi chaser opening late August that has taken forever to get released. Here’s what the guy also known as Bob Digi told an alt newspaper…
“The RZA’s team and Hans Zimmer’s team have combined to create a hybrid kind of score for this movie that’s based in the future. So I think it’s going to be a good vibe for the audience out there, and it’s a good movie anyway – a very thought-provoking movie,” said The RZA (who got away with a lil’ third-person, but he’s The RZA, so hey!)
And add one more name to the film’s composer pot, Shavo Odadjian, the bassist for System of a Down aka “kids these days, I’ll tell ya.” That seems like a lot of effort/talent for a movie that hasn’t exactly put Geekdom on drool alert. RZA added that Tarantino has been holed up like a squirrel for many months—working on Inglorious Bastards, probs—and that he still mentions doing something more with Kill Bill, but, like a girl who leaves ya hangin’ on the phone, we all know how that goes.
Samples Of The Dark Knight Soundtrack Are Online!

The great thing about Batman returning onto the big screen is not only do we get a sequel to the great Batman Begins, we also get a sequel to the amazing soundtrack.
The score by Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard will not be out until July 15th, however some samples have appeared online for us to listen to, which can be found HERE.
It sounds similar to the Batman Begin score, however it sounds bolder and you can defiantly tell which music will be played when the Joker is on screen.

It placed as high as #19 on the UK Singles Chart and #16 on the UK download chart.
Also for The Simpsons Movie, Hans Zimmer, who composed the score for the film, arranged his own version of the theme in an orchestral style consistent with the original, and also inserted “tiny fragments” of it into the rest of his score.
