Christian Bale Rules Out Robin For Batman 3 (and beyond)

Several weeks ago, rumors circled offline once again that Robin would appear in the sequel to The Dark Knight. It reminded me of the “rumor waves” last year when everyone in the industry suddenly discovered The Long Halloween storyline and held it up as the script to Christopher Nolan’s second Batman sequel. According to StarPulse, Christian Bale not only considers Robin lame, he has threatened to remake The Machinist as a documentary if the character crosses his path…
“If Robin crops up in one of the new Batman films, I’ll be chaining myself up somewhere and refusing to go to work.”
Some fans will be blinded by a premature warm happiness after reading, “one of the new Batman films,” but Nolan has insisted this a trilogy. No matter, we are of the agreement that not only should Robin be dismissed, the word “robin” in general should be banned from this franchise. It’s not dark enough, nor does it embolden comparisons to The Godfather 2, Heat, and an “extraordinary cinematic revolution” spelled out by 400,000 lit firecrackers. Actually, that last one is worthy of Robin. We josh.

How would you like a role on Mad Men?

Since today marks the release of the first season DVD set for Mad Men, I thought I’d pass this little bit of news on to fans of the show: they’re holding a contest and the winner gets a walk-on role on the show!
Now, this isn’t one of those easy “send an e-mail” or “mail in a coupon” type of contest. You’re gonna have to work a little bit for this one. You have to go to the link above and print out a monologue from the show and film yourself doing it. Then you upload the video to AMC’s web site. The winner gets a walk-on in a future episode and a free trip to Los Angeles.
The scenes you get to choose from include Don’s monologue about happiness from the pilot, Roger’s “ass” confession to Joan from episode 12; Pete’s direct marketing rant from episode 4; one of Betty’s talks to her therapist from episode 2; Peggy’s scene about life being unfair in episode 12; and Joan’s workplace instructions to Peggy in the pilot.
Not sure if you have to dress up as the character in question, but it couldn’t hurt. Don’t forget the slicked back hair, girdle, and/or cigarette, whichever is appropriate.
Zac Efron Works Hard, Plays Hard
Zac Efron Works Hard, Plays Hard
Zac Efron is just getting started on his career as one of Hollywood’s hottest celebrities. And he’s already figured out that balance is the key to happiness in showbusiness.
For instance, yesterday the paparazzi spotted Zac on the set of “Seventeen” in a cutoff t-shirt, looking as cute as ever. But after he got done with work, he headed over to the gym to pump some iron and de-stress.
On his way to the gym, the High School Musical hottie wore a Nike zip-up hoodie and gym shorts from his high school, Arroyo Grande.
And as if his ego needed more inflating, Efron was at the top of Teen Magazine’s 50 Hottest Guys in Hollywood list. What a life!
Here’s the Teen Magazine top 10:
1. Zac Efron
2. Chris Brown
3. Corbin Bleu
4. Pete Wentz
5, 6 and 7. The Jonas Brothers
8. Cody Linley
9. Chace Crawford
10. Brody Jenner
Daniel Craig Opens Up About His Love Life
Daniel Craig, who will play James Bond in the upcoming Casino Royale, has been linked to Kate Moss and Sienna Miller – but now he’s happily dating “a beautiful American producer” named Satsuki Mitchell, he says in a new interview.
“We’re together, and she’s been experiencing this whole situation with me,” Craig, 38, tells Parade in its upcoming issue. “That’s incredibly important.” Mitchell has worked on movies including the 2005 Adrien Brody drama The Jacket and 2004’s Godsend with Robert DeNiro.
Craig credits their happiness to hard work. “Any relationship needs a little love and care at least once a day,” he says. “I don’t want to get soppy about it, but you’ve got the put the time in. it doesn’t matter who you are, you’ve got to keep putting it in.”
The British-born actor also talks about the pressures involved in taking on the role of the world’s most famous spy. “Maybe I’m not the prettiest Bond that’s ever been, and maybe I’m not the suavest,” he says. “All I can say is there are millions of fans, and I don’t want to let them down. I’ve worked my butt off for this movie. I’m not going to foul it up.”
Though he’s appeared in some 30 movies, including Sylvia and Munich, it is Casino Royale, in theaters Nov. 17, that promises to make Craig a household name. And he wouldn’t have it any other way.
“I got a lot of work quite young, but nothing that you’d call success,” he says. “The experiences I’ve gained made me a happier person. If I had been successful when I was younger, I would have blown it.”
