Kevin Smith Eyes Supporting Cast for Zack and Miri

Kevin Smith has announced the supporting cast for Zack and Miri Make a Porno, kinda. Actually, he’s uploaded a bunch of photos of eye close-ups as a tease. The View Askew fans are on the case, trying to match up headshots to the teaser photos.

Everyone is still unable to confirm #3 and #6. Top guesses so far have Traci Lords as #3 and Jamie Ball or Steve Zahn as #6. We’ll update the story when we have final confirmation.

Smith did confirm that while the film might feature a pornstar (#1), that Zack & Miri do not approach a pornstar for advice in the movie. Kevin says that “Nobody in the cast is playing themselves. Everyone is playing a character.”

What do you guys think of the supporting cast? Anyone have a better guess for #3 or #6?

The Dark Knight: Six New Viral Sites Launch

we told you that TheGothamTimes.com would be launching their online edition today as part of The Dark Knight viral marketing game. Well, the site is now online and features all of the stories seen in the print edition that was sent to the RorysDeathKiss.com winners.

When you first visit TheGothamTimes.com, you will notice a slight rip on the right side of the page, if pulled, will reveal a bunch of “HA HA HA”’s as seen in the above image. If you click on the laughs, you will be redirected to the TheHAHAHATimes.com, a Joker-vandalized version of The Gotham Times website, as seen below. Click on the image to enlarge. The Joker has superimposed text over headlines, circled select phrases in red ink, and colored a few of the headshots with Joker-style make-up.

WeAreTheAnswer.org was mentioned in the newspaper, but that the website had yet to launch. Well that site has also launched today as a tip-submission page for the Gotham Police Department.

Another link leads to GothamPolice.com, where you can apple for police recruitment. The site features a photo of Gotham Police Commissioner Loeb, who is featured in the upcoming Batman Begins sequel.

GothamNationalBank.com, a banking institution which is also featured in the upcoming film.

RememberingGina.org (shown below) is a website in her memorial

What do all these sites mean in the grand scheme of things? Where will the next leg of the game take us? And where is the clue to unlock that door? Bravo to the marketing team at Warner Bros.

Chicago Seven Next For Spielberg? Casting Choices Revealed!

Steven SpielbergA couple days ago (last year even) it was reported that Sacha Baron Cohen had been cast as Abbie Hoffman in Steven Spielberg’s The Trial of the Chicago Seven. I like many other movie journalists wondered when Speilberg was going to find the time for this project with Tintin, Lincoln and Interstellar on his plate. Jim Windolf mentions in the new Indiana Jones Vanity Fair article that Spielberg is hoping to direct Chicago Seven next, and follow up with Lincoln. I assume this means that Jackson, not Spielberg, will be directing the first Tintin film.

Windolf also got a glance at a table of headshots of actors under consideration for the film. The list of big name actors includes: Will Smith, Taye Diggs, Adam Arkin, Kevin Spacey, Sacha Baron Cohen, Philip Seymour Hoffman (as William Kunstler). Smith and Diggs are likely in contention for the part.
