Demi Lovato’s Star Keeps Rising
As her star continues to rise, Disney actress Demi Lovato is suddenly finding herself under a much brighter spotlight at the young age of 15-years-old.
The Camp Rock cutie was spotted outside of her New York City hotel on Tuesday (June 24), graciously stopping to greet a crowd of fans that had quickly amassed near the hotel exit.
And while the success of Camp Rock (it was this past Friday’s highest rated show and the year’s top drawing cable entertainment program) has been great, it seems that “reuniting with her father for the first time in four years has been an even bigger thrill for the Ms Lovato.”
Talking to Star magazine about the reunion, Patrick Lovato said: “She’ll always be ‘my partner’ — that’s what we’ve always called each other. We have a special relationship that’ll never change, no matter how big she becomes.”
“I was at my dad’s house when I heard a knock on the door, and he yelled out that someone wanted to see me,” says Patrick. “I walked out of the bedroom — and there was Demi! I couldn’t believe how beautiful she was.The first thing she said to me was, ‘Hey, partner… I love you!’ We threw our arms around each other and began to cry.”
According to the Star report, Patrick’s marriage ended in 1994, and “after Patrick later moved to New Mexico and suffered some health problems, a wedge developed between him and Demi. For four years he didn’t see his daughter until she made a surprise visit in February.”
Russert’s Doctor Details Autopsy Results
Tim Russert’s personal physician spoke out for the first time since the NBC newsman’s untimely death on Friday.
Dr. Michael Newman issued a statement revealing Russert’s autopsy results, which showed that a heart attack took the life of the Meet the Press host.
“Russert, age 58, was known to have asymptomatic coronary artery disease, which resulted in hardening of his coronary arteries,” Newman said.
A fresh clot ruptured in Russert’s left anterior descending coronary artery, causing the fatal heart attack. The autopsy also revealed that NBC’s Washington bureau chief had an enlarged heart, he said.
Despite his previously diagnosed health problems, Russert managed his coronary artery disease with medication and daily exercise, said Newman, and even used a treadmill the morning he died. Russert also passed a stress test on April 29.
“At a high level of exercise he had no symptoms,” Newman said, adding that his blood pressure and cholesterol were “well controlled.”
Dark City Director’s Cut

Warner Home Video has announced that they will be releasing a director’s cut of Alex Proyas‘ cult film Dark City on July 29th 2008 on both DVD and Blu-ray. The original 1998 release ran 96 minutes and the new director’s cut is about 15 minutes longer, clocking in at 111 minutes. The new cut supposedly has improved special effects and a new and improved sound mix.
Dark City has a huge cult following within film industry insiders and cinephile circles. Roger Ebert named Dark City the best film of 1998, and was even featured on the original dvd release in a commentary track, which is considered by some film enthusiasts to be one of the best DVD audio commentaries ever recorded. Ebert supposedly recorded a new audio commentary for the forthcoming release before his health problems.
The studio’s press information states that the new release also features two additional commentary tracks that “take you deeper than ever before into the world of one of sci-fis most exciting and revered tales.” No other information is known at this time.

Videos: Behind the Scenes of Wes Anderson’s The Darjeeling Limited

Fox Searchlight has sent us four behind the scenes videos for Wes Anderson’s The Darjeeling Limited, which hits select theaters on September 29th 2007. It is rather strange timing to release these videos on a day which has the media reporting on the health problems of star Owen Wilson. Either way, you can check them out after the jump, provided with segment synopses written by Wes himself!
Behind The Darjeeling Limited - On the Motorcycle: “In India, motorcycles always carry at least three passengers on any given ride, and often an entire family. Our favorite brand is called the Hero
Honda.”
Behind The Darjeeling Limitied - The Caboose: “There are no longer cabooses on passenger trains in India (or anywhere else for that matter?), so our production designer Mark Friedberg built one. We shot these scenes near our workshop in Jodphur.”

Behind The Darjeeling Limited - 1000 Bulls: “We started our shoot in the middle of one of the busiest and least accessible (by anything other than bicycle or auto-rickshaw) parts of Jodphur. Luckily, our key grip Sanjay Sami introduced us to his “rickshaw dolly” which became our favorite piece of equipment.”

Behind The Darjeeling Limited - The Lost Train: “You are never alone in India. Even in the middle of the most remote desert, if you take a careful look, you will find that there are people and animals around you somewhere. This scene was shot on top of a high dune near a village called Osian.”
