Johnny Depp Begins Work On “Public Enemies”

Causing a small town frenzy, Johnny Depp took to the set of his new movie in Columbus, Wisconsin on Monday (March 17).

The Pirates of the Caribbean heartthrob and his Hollywood crew are filming Public Enemies, in which Depp plays 1930’s bank robber John Dillinger.

According to local press, directors kept fans blocks away from the filming - but hundreds of Depp lovers flocked to Columbus, trying to get a glimpse of the Hollywood star.

“He rolled down his dark window as he rode by and waved at all of us as we were waiting,” told a fan, adding, “I never thought a big movie would come here or anywhere near us, so it’s kind of exciting.”

Press reports tell that Johnny and his film crew will be in Wisconsin for a few more days, before moving on to film at other locations.

Jude Law Fills in for Heath Ledger

Jude Law Fills in for Heath Ledger

Talk about stepping into some big shoes - yesterday Jude Law arrived in Vancouver, British Columbia to begin work on the film “The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus,” a role left unfinished by Heath Ledger.

The English heartthrob looked calm and casual in a v-neck shirt, leather jacket, and a pair of distressed denim jeans.  But it sounds like he’ll have his work cut out for him.

When Ledger tragically died, he was in the middle of filming “Imaninarium,” leaving his part to be finished by the likes of Law, along with Johnny Depp and Colin Farrell.

And when he’s done in Vancouver, Jude will be busy as the new global face for Christian Dior’s new men’s fragrance.  But don’t get too excited, ladies… his ads won’t be used in US or UK markets.

Theaters Give Chace on Halloween

Chace Crawford

While CW fans get to know him as lacrosse-playing teen-about-town Nate Archibald on Gossip Girl, Chace Crawford has also been busy screaming for his supper.

The Haunting of Molly Hartley, a supernatural thriller starring the 22-year-old heartthrob (who also made magic in the teen-witch chiller The Covenant), has been given a Halloween 2008 release date after indie distributor Freestyle Releasing acquired the U.S. rights to the film, the company announced Thursday.

Crawford plays Joseph, the nice guy who befriends new-girl-in-school Molly (Haley Bennett), who, for unknown reasons, is becoming increasingly freaked out by… something.

Crawford is one on a long list of current and former CW/WB/UPN stars, including Chad Michael Murrary, Jessica Biel, Sophia Bush, Barry Watson, Tom Welling, Kristen Bell, Brandy and Emily VanCamp, who have flashed their scary sides to beef up their big-screen credentials.
