Crocodile Dundee: G’Day, Tax Man!

Paul Hogan

Actor Paul Hogan, star of the 1980s classic Crocodile Dundee, has some fighting words for the Australian tax man: “Come and get me, you miserable bastards.”

The 68-year-old actor is being investigated for tax evasion by the Australian Tax Office, which has asked the IRS in the United States to help obtain Hogan’s bank records.

“I don’t give a s–t about itI’ve got nothing to worry about,” he told reporters from his home in Santa Barbara, Calif. “I’ve paid more than every cent I owe, I paid too much, I paid tax there when I didn’t have to.”

The Aussie-born actor, who won a Golden Globe for his portrayal of the croc-fighting Mick Dundee, is fighting the move in the Los Angeles courts, saying the tax office is trying to get documents it would not legally be able to obtain in Australia.

Hogan said the only reason he’s being targeted is because he is “high-profile and because I’ve got money.”

Who knew making box office bombs like Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles and Lightning Jack would pay off so big?!

Heidi Klum: Business and Pleasure in NYC

With her high-profile career and demanding family life, it’s a wonder Heidi Klum ever finds time to sleep!  The German supermodel was spotted balancing work and family in New York City yesterday.

Decked out in a sexy black dress and snakeskin Christian Louboutin heels, Klum was seen having lunch with her friends at the uber-trendy Barbuto restaurant in Manhattan.

Earlier in the day, Heidi tended to her professional duties at a photo shoot.  And she took her kids and parents along with her, making sure to get some quality time with the fam.

The “Project Runway” babe recently told press the secret to her deep relationship with husband Seal.  “There are many, many things. But I would say love is the most important thing. Seal and I feel very lucky that we found each other. He’s my best friend. He would never go in through a door first. He always opens the door for me and steps back so I walk through.”

And they’re still leaving the door open for adding to their brood.  “So many people say, ‘I am so done.’ That hasn’t come out of my mouth, and it hasn’t come out of Seal’s mouth, either. I feel like we still have one coming.”

In light of the prolonged media lambasting of her character, Britney Spears appeared on Ryan Seacrest’s morning radio show today to promote her new album and set the record straight.

The “Gimme More” singer talked about her frustration with public perception, and constant scrutiny. “People say what they want and do what they do. Its sad how people … how cruel our world can be. But at the end of the day you gotta to know in your heart that you are doing the best that you can.”

Pushing the issue a big farther, Seacrest asked the mommy-of-two if she felt like she was doing her best with her boys.  Brit replied, “Oh god, yeah, yeah.”

With Blackout getting really great reviews from both fans and critics, Ryan asked the “Toxic” singer which new track was her favorite.  She replied, “I really like ‘Heaven on Earth.’ I think it’s a cool track. It’s kind of different from all the other songs.”

As for her big record release day, Spears revealed that it wasn’t a high-profile party time.  “It was kind of laid back, really.  We watched movies, that’s about it.”
