Christina Applegate Mourns Former Beau’s Death

Christina Applegate

Some very sad news for Christina Applegate.

E! News has confirmed that an investigation is under way into the circumstances surrounding the death of 26-year-old Lee Grivas, an aspiring photographer who had been dating the Samantha Who? star off and on for more than two years.

“I am profoundly saddened,” Applegate said in a statement to News.

“Lee was an incredible human being who was an extremely important and beautiful part of my life. He is missed beyond words. He touched so many and I feel much sadness for his mother, brother and all of his family and friends.”

The Los Angeles Police Department said that a report was filed July 1 but would not divulge any further details, pending the results of an autopsy and toxicology tests.

“All I confirm is that a death report investigation for Lee Grivas has been taken,” Officer Julie Sohn said.

Authorities have also said, however, that Grivas had a history of drug abuse and that an officer found a syringe at the scene.

TMZ.com reported that a neighbor discoverd Grivas’ body on the living room floor of his Hollywood apartment on Tuesday. He was pronounced dead at 5:25 p.m.

According to published reports, Applegate started seeing Grivas in January 2006, a year after husband Jonathan Schaech filed for divorce. At the time, she was starring in a Broadway revival of Sweet Charity.

They reportedly split later that year but had been seeing each other again over the last few months.

“We’re very happy with each other,” Grivas, told People in 2006. “I like making her smile and she likes making me smile. It’s really innocent and fun.”

Steve-O Avoids Jail After Guilty Plea in Coke Case

Stephen "Steve-O" Glover

To hear him tell it, Steve-O’s days of jackassery are behind him and he’s ready for a cleanand soberslate.

The thrill-seeking former MTV star entered a guilty plea today in Los Angeles to a cocaine-possession charge, announcing to the court that he “found God” and has been sober for 85 days.

Attorney Barry Gerald Sands tells News that because of his client’s commitment and time in rehab, judgment was deferred upon successful completion of his treatment program.

“The entire case will be dismissed when he completes the program. It will be like it never happened,” says Sands. “You can’t beat that.”

The erstwhile Jackass star, who turns 34 on Friday the 13th, was busted for felony cocaine possession March 3 at his Hollywood apartment following a run-in with a neighbor.

Steve-O, whose real name is Stephen Glover, will stay in his undisclosed rehabilitation program until the next court hearing on July 8.

Adds Sands: “He’s a happy camper.”

Steve-O Walks the Not-Guilty Walk

Steve-O wore a shirt and left the schtick at home.

The Jackass daredevil was standing tall as News caught up with him after court Tuesday, where he pleaded not guilty to felony cocaine possession stemming from a March 3 bust at his Hollywood apartment following a run-in with a neighbor.

"I'm always gonna be me, but I'm 64 days clean. I feel good," Steve-O, whose parents named him Stephen Glover, told our crew, also pointing out the self-help book he was toting, Bringers of the Dawn, which, per Amazon.com, "points out a creative and positive way to turn on our inner light and underlines the principle of commitment to spiritual growth."

"Sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll was something I thought was good," Steve-O said. "I really ran away from my problems, they caught up to me, and now I'm not running anymore."

Today's preliminary hearing was continued to June 3.

Steve-O Pleads Not Guilty in Drug Rap

Stephen "Steve-O" Glover

For his next stunt, Steve-O is hoping to beat a legal rap.

The Jackass star appeared in a Los Angeles courtroom Wednesday and pleaded not guilty to a charge of felony cocaine possession stemming from last month's drug bust.

Going for a more dapper, button-down look compared to his usual shirtless ways, he entered his plea through his lawyer, Barry Sands.

Los Angeles Commissioner Henry J. Hall set a preliminary hearing for May 13, which Steve-O will be required to attend. At that point, the court will decide whether there's enough evidence to warrant a trial.

Following the proceeding, the MTV prankster hung around to sign a few autographs. He also addressed his reckless lifestyle, telling reporters that after a brief stint in UCLA Medical Center's psych ward shortly after being collared on the cocaine charge, he's finally getting his act together and dealing with his alcohol and drug addictions.

"I've been clean for 44 days," he said.

Steve-O, real name Stephen Glover, got into this mess March 3, when he was busted at approximately 5 a.m. on suspicion of vandalism and drug possession at his Hollywood apartment complex. The 33-year-old had videotaped himself smashing holes into the wall of a neighboring apartment in a foolish bid to rankle a fellow tenant.

Apparently he succeeded, because the irate neighbor ended up making a citizen's arrest. When the cops arrived, they purportedly found a small amount of the white stuff in Steve-O's possession, and he was taken into custody.

After posting $20,000 bail, he checked into UCLA for psychiatric treatment, which he described in subsequent blog posts as his period in the "loony bin."

Now that he's clean and sober, Steve-O is putting his creative juices into something a little more healthy, telling Carson Daly on Last Call recently that he's hard at work recording a "comedy gangsta" album with members of G-Unit.

"I'm the only guy dumb enough to try to give hip-hop a sense of humor," he cracked.
