WGA Strike Officially Over…Let’s Dance!

Our strike-beat reporter, Hooper X, will be chiming in with his official report shortly, but the legendary Writers Guild of America Strike is now over. A vote was passed at 7 p.m. today to end it with a 92.5% endorsement. Here’s the statement from WGA West president Patrick Verrone…

“The strike is over,” he said. “Our membership has voted, and writers can go back to work. This was not a strike we wanted, but one we had to conduct in order to win jurisdiction and establish appropriate residuals for writing in new media and on the Internet. Those advances now give us a foothold in the digital age. Rather than being shut out of the future of content creation and delivery, writers will lead the way as TV migrates to the Internet and platforms for new media are developed.”

Paris Plans For Opera, Unveils Shoe Line

Paris Plans For Opera, Unveils Shoe Line

With her truncated TV career, and a failed pop music album, you gotta wonder where Paris Hilton is going to take her career.  Reportedly, the heiress will be building up her resume by starring in an Opera.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, it’s going to be an interesting choice.  “Well, Repo! The Genetic Opera, which is described as a rock opera, is less Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and more Tobe ‘’Chainsaw Massacre’’ Hooper.”

Repo! is said to be set in the year 2056, when a mysterious plague takes over the human race, and threatens extinction.  And apparently the former Simple Life star has what it takes to wow audiences.  “Paris came in and owned it. She is this role,” said Director Darren Lynn Bousman.

Maybe she’ll be wearing her new Antebi Footwear shoes in the film.  That’s right, Paris has her own line of footwear.

She told press, “My goal is to create a stylish and fun fashion line from head to toe.” And CEO Joseph Antebi says she’s doing just that.

“Paris has been a pleasure to work with and we are very excited to be able to translate her vision into reality.  Her previous ventures, such as her fragrance line, have proven to be extremely successful and we are confident that this venture will exceed her previous success.”
