Matt Damon Defines Summer Style in Steven Soderbergh’s The Informant
It’s time to play everyone’s favorite game, “Rejected Sears model, Amber Alert suspect or Matt Damon in character.” A celeb site ickily called Splash received a batch of open-shirted, pale Damon photos from the set of Steven Soderbergh’s The Informant. We haven’t talked much about the flick on: Damon plays Mark Whitacre, “the highest level executive to turn whistle-blower in U.S. history,” whose prolonged undercover work for the FBI gathering price-fixing evidence against his employer, an agri-biz powerhouse, um, did nothing to help a severe bipolar disorder.
Moreover, Whitacre embezzled millions from his employer while working with the “good guys.” He was released from prison in 2006 after serving more than eight years, and now has a COO position in bio-tech. If you saw the guy pictured here at the hotel pool, such a bizarre narc trajectory would sound about right, no? Scott Bakula will play the main FBI dude in the film, which is a welcome/unpredictable casting choice for a role usually created for Christian Bale. Opening March ‘09, The Informant looks to join notable white collar paranoia thrillers like The Insider, Michael Clayton and Damon’s own The Good Shepherd.

Despite her parents’ impending divorce, it seemed as if Brooke Hogan was doing okay this past weekend. She was spotted in a black and pink striped bikini sunning herself at a hotel pool in Miami Beach yesterday.
The blonde singer looked very fit and sexy in her swimwear, and even gave the paparazzi a few sexy shots of her “assets.”
It stands to reason that Brooke, 19, may be just trying to forget about the turmoil going on at home. Just this past week, her mother, Linda Hogan, filed for divorce from her father, Hulk Hogan, after 24 years of marriage.
And from all accounts, it came as a real shocker. Hulk told press, “My wife has been in California for about three weeks. … Holy smokes. Wow, you just knocked the bottom out of me.”
If there’s any silver lining to this family meltdown, it’s that Brooke will now have all kinds of inspiration for her new album, due out in 2008. Hopefully it will do better than 2006’s “Undiscovered” which sold only 127,000 copies.

The former “Taradise” star, who was spotted soaking up the rays at her hotel pool on Sunday, made the trip across the globe - and what she gets paid for public appearances may surprise you.
According to recent reports, Reid once commanded “the inflated price of $25,000 to $35,000 per promotional appearance.” But that’s not the case anymore.
An Australia news agency tells, “The star (Tara) is now being offered for the bargain-basement price of about $3500 to turn up to Sydney parties this week.”

After recently wrapping up her lengthy Spice Girls world tour, singer Melanie Brown is in the midst of a relaxing vacation with husband Stephen Belafonte in Miami, Florida.
On Saturday, a bikini clad Scary Spice and her man hit the beach for a jet ski ride - soon migrating to their hotel pool area to mingle with fellow guests.
While by the pool, Mel B checked out the muscles of a hunky pool boy - reportedly making the hotel worker blush by squeezing his bicep and taking a cheeky glance at his backside.
And the getaway is a much needed one for Brown, who also has been dealing with a child support battle with comedian Eddie Murphy.
According to recent reports, the “Norbit” star recently accused Mel of trapping him into having the child, 11-month-old daughter, Angel.
“What was supposed to be a casual relationship ended with her having his baby and taking him to court for millions,” a source said.
