Brooke Shields’ New Show
Brooke Shields’ New Show
She’s had such a long-running, far-reaching career, and Brooke Shields’ latest project, a TV show called “Lipstick Jungle” sounds like a winner. She was on the set yesterday, looking happy as ever.
In “Lipstick Jungle” Shields plays a character named Wendy. And according to Brooke, there are many similarities between herself and her character.
She told press, “Wendy, she’s a studio exec. Runs a film studio and she has two kids. She’s basically the main breadwinner and that creates a nice conflict. She’s a good mom and she’s very harried all the time and very smart and very ambitious and struggling to balance. There are three women and they rely on one another and their friendship. They lean on one another. They’re funny and smart and they look fabulous.”
Brooke commented, “I feel a certain kinship to her because I recognize how difficult it is, and every day is a new challenge and you don’t always succeed but that doesn’t mean you don’t try. She’s optimistic and I am too. There’s a humor to her which I have as well and I think without it we fall apart.”
A New Yorker herself, Shields talked about raising kids in the Big Apple. “When we’re uptown we definitely go to Central Park and we don’t do too much shopping around the city. We like walking around visiting the theater and we have a lot of friends from my Broadway days. We play in the park and love going downtown to Soho. I was born and raised uptown so I found myself going downtown a lot.”
Matthijs van Heijningen to direct Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead
Commercial filmmaker and visual artist Matthijs van Heijningen will make his directorial debut on the Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead. Joby Harold (Awake) wrote the screenplay based on an original idea by Snyder. The story follows a father on a mission to save his daughter in a quarantined and zombie-infested Las Vegas. Snyder has described the film as a “zombie movie on the scale that” hasn’t been done before. Zack praised Heijningen’s “ability to infuse humor with irony allows him to create compelling stories in 30 seconds.”
Watch 8 of Heijningen’s TV commercials in today’s Video(s) of the Day.

Monk Finds New Couch to Lie On
Despite a tragic loss, Adrian Monk will still be able to get the help he needs this summer.
Hector Elizondo will be joining the cast of Monk's upcoming seventh season after signing on to play the finicky detective's therapist, a role unexpectedly left unfilled after the sudden death of veteran character actor Stanley Kamel from a heart attack earlier this month.
"Monk will always need a therapistand it's a part that is pivotal to the central themes of the show," USA exec Jeff Wachtel said in a statement Wednesday. "When we lost Stanley, we knew we needed an actor who could bring warmth, intelligence and humor to the role. Hector was actually the first person that came to mind, and we are incredibly fortunate that he's agreed to do some episodes with us. Stanley can never be replaced, but we think he'd be very pleased with our choice."
Elizondo most recently starred in the short-lived CBS drama Cane. New episodes of Monk premiere July 18.
Most Action Packed Hulk TV Spot Yet!
Below is a new TV spot for The Incredible Hulk and it is probably the best one we’ve seen. Lots of action and a tad of humor at the end, which we haven’t seen much of so far. We also see Bruce spit out some lung tissue or some part of his insides while transforming. Nice…
Just over two weeks to go!
