Gossip Girl Boss Says Spinoff Rumors Are Not True

Gossip Girl Cast

Attention, Upper East Siders: “Little J” has not left the building.

This is the latest coming out of Camp Gossip Girl after the Hollywood Reporter reported this morning that executive producer Josh Schwartz and his crew are working on a Gossip spinoff, most likely surrounding Taylor Momsen’s character, Jenny Humphrey (aka Li’l J), who was the subject of a spinoff series for the Gossip books.

But Schwartz himself says the rumors are not true.

“Not sure how this got out there, but no plans for spinoff at this moment,” Schwartz tells me. “The books do have a spinoff, but we have nothing in the works right now other than making sure season two gets off to a great start.”

Attention, Upper East Siders: “Little J” has not left the building.

Taylor Momsen, Gossip Girl

This is the latest coming out of Camp Gossip Girl after the Hollywood Reporter reported this morning that executive producer Josh Schwartz and his crew are currently working on a Gossip spinoff, most likely surrounding Taylor Momsen’s character, Jenny Humphrey (aka Li’l J), who was the subject of a spinoff series for the Gossip books.

I just emailed Schwartz himself to get the real story, and he tells me the rumors are not true:

Holla! Personally, I’m thrilled to hear that Schwartz is keeping his creative mojo focused on the two shows we already know and love: Chuck and Gossip Girl, you?

You know you love it.
XOXO,

Gossip Grandma Gets Dirty, Sexy

Caroline Lagerfeldt, Peter Krause

(That was a fun headline to write.)

Dan Humphrey, you can breathe a sigh of relief, ’cause Serena Van der Woodsen’s ice queen of a grandmother won’t be around next season to try and tear you away from your twue wove.

Just heard from inside sources that Caroline Lagerfelt, who plays Lily’s crazy be-yotch mom on Gossip Girl has been cast as the mother of Nick George, Peter Krause’s character on Dirty Sexy Money.

They tell me that as of now, Caroline is in just one episode of season two (likely the fourth or fifth), but moms have a way of staying close to their kids, so I expect we’ll see more of her.

She’s going to give the saga of the intertwined George and Darling families some nice dimension, don’t you think?

Exclusive! Find Out Who's Gay on Gossip Girl and Who He's Hooking Up With!

Gossip Girl: Chace Crawford, Penn Badgley, Ed Westwick, Matthew Settle, Connor Paolo, Robert John Burke

Holy Gossip!

Our Upper East Side batphone just rang with some dish on Gossip Girl, and it is just far too juicy not to share.

Want to know who's gay? Want to know with whom he'll be playing tonsil hockey? (Yes, it's a guy!) Then keep reading…

Connor Paolo, Gossip Girl

Sources confirm that the character with the queer eye is none other than little Eric van der Woodsen, little bro to the big S.

Now that might not be all that shocking, given that he's one of the only characters on the show who hasn't yet had a steamy hookup, but brace yourselves, GG fans, for it is coming!

Taylor Momsen, Gossip Girl

Turns out, it's the way in which Eric is outed that is the true jaw-dropper. Insiders tell me he'll be caught making out with Jenny Humphrey…'s new boyfriend!

How's that for another kick in the gut to the girl who just can't seem to catch a break?! She's gonna need some serious retail therapy after that fiasco. (So Upper East ladies, hide your couture gowns!)

Now, with all this gay Gossip talk, it's worth pointing out that in the original Gossip Girl series, it was actually Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley), who questioned his sexuality. However, sources tell me there are currently no plans for any same-sex action for Dan. Not surprising, since he is one-half of the show's cornerstone coupling.

Penn told us this back in October: "I think [Dan] is straight-up gay in the books. But I don’t think network TV really has the balls to make one of its [teenage] series regulars gay. Let's say the show builds up to become a big hit, then I think they'd maybe explore it in year three or four."

Note to Penn: Let it be known that the CW does have cojones! Woot woot!

So what do you think of this upcoming plot twist? Are you surprised? Post below…
