Madonna’s Bro Has Designs on Reality TV

Madonna, Christopher Ciccone

First, Madonna’s brother Christopher Ciccone writes a memoir about being her brother. And now, the New York Post reports he’s shopping around a reality show about the same exact thing.

At this point, anything is believable between these feuding siblings.

But, alas, only the book will be slinging the mud. The reality show is about something completely different, a source exclusively reveals.

Ciccone’s reality-show idea is centered around interior design, the source reports. He has already been shooting around Los Angeles at various stores, including a Home Depot and 99¢ Only and Anna’s Linens stores. “He’s clearly not there shopping for his typical clientele,” the source said.

I’m told Ciccone and his team are referring to the show concept as a “design intervention.”

Ciccone’s design projects have included Madonna’s apartment on New York’s Upper West Side, some high-end condominium complexes in Miami and numerous restaurants. He also appeared on an episode of Bravo’s Top Chef Miami to assist contestants in a restaurant-design challenge.

The memoir, Life With My Sister, will be released July 15.

Video Clip: Michel Gondry’s Interior Design

Tokyo

Tokyo Interior Design PosterCannes2008 has the first video clip from Michel Gondry’s “Interior Design”, a 30-minute short film which is part of the upcoming three part anthology project Tôkyô!, a triptych film in the same tradition of New York Stories or Paris, je t’aime from directors Bong Joon Ho (The Host), Leos Carax (Bad Blood) and Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine). Each director tells an odd little story set in Japan’s capital. The film just sold at Cannes to Liberation Entertainment for North American distribution.

Written by Gondry and comic author Gabrielle Bell, Interior Design is based on Bell’s comic book “Cecil and Jordan in New York” from “Kramer’s Ergot #5”. The surreal fable of a young couple who moves to Tokyo in search of a future. While the boy’s ambition is clear - be a movie maker- the girl drifts gradually apart. Both of them will be drowned in the imensity until the girl [Ayako Fujitani, Steven Seagal’s Japanese daughter], feeling alone, discovers something strange … she eventually turns into a chair. Michel Gondry’s Upcoming Comic Book Adaptation - Interior Design

Tokyo Interior Design PosterMel Valentin sends along word about Eternal Sunshine director Michel Gondry’s 30-minute short film which will appear in the upcoming Tôkyô!, a triptych film in the same tradition of New York Stories or Paris, je t’aime). Not so coincidentally, Gondry was originally set to direct a segment of Paris, je t’aime, but had to drop out for unknown reasons.

The film tells three separate stories of the Japanese capital, one by Leos Carax, one by Bong Joon-Ho, and one by Gondry. Gondry’s segment is titled “Interior Design”. Written by Gondry and comic author Gabrielle Bell, Design is based on Bell’s comic book “Cecil and Jordan in New York” from “Kramer’s Ergot #5”. The story follows a girl [Ayako Fujitani] who tries to move into Tokyo with her boyfriend. Unable to find an apartment or a job, she eventually turns into a chair. Sounds like something Gondry would make.

Bell was on-set throughout the filming. The movie is now in post production. No release details have been released, although I wouldn’t be surprised to see it at Festival d Cannes in May. Another viable option is The International Tokyo Film Festival in October, but that might be too far off.

Victoria Beckham Puts Family First

Victoria Beckham Puts Family First

With all the hoopla surrounding the Beckham Pilgrimage to America, Victoria Beckham isn’t one to lose her perspective.  It looks like she has been favoring her option to write a book, rather than the grueling TV filming schedule in order to support her man.

Posh will be writing a book on the subject of interior design.  It seems appropriate, being that she is preparing her Los Angeles mansion for her family to occupy.  “Victoria’s last book was a pretty good seller and the new one looks like a must for those who aspire to decorate their home in an extravagant footballer’s wives’ style”, said Britain’s Daily Express.

The upcoming book will be autobiographical, with pictures of the home before and after it was made “Posh.” It will include a step-by-step guide of how to accomplish the look and feel of a true soccer stud’s home.

Meanwhile, Posh has reportedly put filming her six-episode NBC docu-reality series on hold because her husband has been recalled from their new home in Los Angeles to play for the English national soccer team.

“She hasn’t pulled out but has decided to put David and her children first,” a source close to Beckham told People.  “Victoria was supposed to go back to L.A. this week and next week but has canceled.  What that means is that out of a very tight four or five-week filming schedule, half of it is lost.”

“Victoria is always happy to fulfill her obligations and she’ll fly out at the end of June to do another week’s filming. But that will only give the network about half an hour’s footage on top of the half hour they shot last month,” said the Daily Mirror.

“Vic is fiercely loyal to David - the whole move to Los Angeles was for him and his career in the first place. She was in tears when she heard he’d been recalled to the England squad as she knew that was his ultimate dream.  She had a real laugh during the initial filming of the series last month… But there is absolutely no way she’d have sacrificed being there [for David]… regardless of how much it would help her profile in the U.S.”

As a result of all the back-and-forth antics, NBC is considering the future of Posh’s reality show.

We’ll be sure to bring you the latest updates. In the meantime, enjoy the pictures of Victoria shopping in LA at Barney’s and Minotti on Monday (June 4) and out to eat at Nobu in Malibu the previous day (June 3)!
