Zack and Miri Make a Porno Teaser Trailer

Zack and Miri Make a Porno

Kevin Smith has released the first internet teaser trailer for Zack and Miri Make a Porno. The teaser trailer appears to be a set of improvised lines or outtakes, from a scene where Zack and Miri are auditioning potential cast members for their porno.

“Don’t call it a trailer, ’cause it’s not a trailer; it’s a teaser,” warns Smith. “There ain’t a frame of footage in this puppy that’s in the actual flick, so feel free to watch it without fear of ‘spoilers’. This is just a little something to give you a bit of a feel for the flick.“

The internet teaser gives us a good idea of the vulgar-infused humor we should expect from the film. Check out the trailer below, and as always, tell me what you think in the comments!

“You’ll get plenty of footage in the actual trailer when it drops. A teaser’s just supposed to tease.”

Rumor has it that the film’s theatrical trailer will be attached to Pineapple Express, which also happens to star Seth Rogen.

Zack and Miri are two lifelong friends who are so deep in debt that they decide to enlist the help of their friends to make a porno movie for some quick cash. But as everybody starts “doing” everybody, Zack and Miri realize that they may have more feelings for each other than they previously thought. The film stars Seth Rogen, Elizabeth Banks, Craig Robinson, Traci Lords, Katie Morgan, Ricky Mabe, Jeff Anderson, and Jason Mewes.

Zack and Miri Make a Porno hits theaters on October 31st 2008.

Elizabeth Banks is F*cking Seth Rogen

In Kevin Smith’s new movie Zack and Miri Make a Porno, Elizabeth Banks has sex with Seth Rogen (or so we assume from the title. Sarah Silverman’s music video “I’m F*cking Matt Damon” resulted in Jimmy Kimmel’s response “I’m F*cking Ben Affleck”. Kevin Smith has figured out a genius way to capitalize on this recent viral craze to promote his new movie, and has released the first parody with Elizabeth Banks singing “I’m Fucking Seth Rogen”.

It doesn’t have the production values and superstar cameos, but is laugh out loud funny. The video features cameos from Zack and Miri co-stars Jason Mewes, Traci Lords, Craig Robinson, Jeff Anderson, Katie Morgan and Ricky Mabe. Watch the NSFW video below.

Kevin Smith Eyes Supporting Cast for Zack and Miri

Kevin Smith has announced the supporting cast for Zack and Miri Make a Porno, kinda. Actually, he’s uploaded a bunch of photos of eye close-ups as a tease. The View Askew fans are on the case, trying to match up headshots to the teaser photos.

Zack and Miri Supporting Cast Eyes

Who are these six actors/actresses? Find out at least four of them.

1. Pornstar Katie Morgan

2. Craig Robinson

4. Jeff Anderson

 5. Jason Mewes

Jason Mewes

Everyone is still unable to confirm #3 and #6. Top guesses so far have Traci Lords as #3 and Jamie Ball or Steve Zahn as #6. We’ll update the story when we have final confirmation.

Smith did confirm that while the film might feature a pornstar (#1), that Zack & Miri do not approach a pornstar for advice in the movie. Kevin says that “Nobody in the cast is playing themselves. Everyone is playing a character.”

What do you guys think of the supporting cast? Anyone have a better guess for #3 or #6?

Kevin Smith Finishes Red State Screenplay

Kevin Smith

Kevin Smith has finished the first draft for his upcoming horror film, Red State. Not only is it done, but it’s the shortest script Smith has ever written, and contains the least amount of dialogue.

“Not to say there’s no dialogue; just that there’s about half as much as I normally write,” Smith revealed on his website viewaskew.com. “Unlike any other script I’ve ever authored, to say the least. Very fucked up. If I’d never said anything about it in the press and put it out under a pseudonym, I doubt anyone would ever connect me with it. Can’t wait to shoot it.”

I have a hard time classifying it as a “horror flick” because, while it shares some of the genre conventions, it’s just not what most would consider a horror flick. Horrific, yes, but not a horror flick in terms of the general definition. Let’s put it this way: if “Rosemary’s Baby” can be classified as a horror flick, then “Red State” can be as well.

Smith has yet to reveal any plot details or confirm any casting (heck, he just finished the script - did we really expect casting news this early in?) but NewsAskew reports that Clerks alumni Jeff Anderson and Jay Mewes are rumored to be on board. I’m pretty sure Smith dropped mention of Mewes casting in a Smodcast from a while back.
